Q & A with Doug taken from www.playfootball.com :

Hi Doug, We used to watch you play all the time in Calgary and have followed your career in the NFL. What are the major differences between the NFL and the CFL, and what do you like best about each league?

Hi Don, The CFL is a finesse game because of the size of the field, the rules such as 3 downs, etc. While the NFL is more of a power game due to the size of the field and the size of the guys and the 4 downs. In the CFL I liked that the quarterback has more control, throws more and calls his own plays. I like the competition and the exciting atmosphere in the NFL and running out in front of 80,000 or so fans.

What was your worst injury in your career?

Hi Kyle, I tore a ligament in my throwing arm when I was playing for Calgary. I needed surgery and was out for 8 weeks. Luckily, I rehabbed it and built it back up and knock on wood have not had any trouble since. [I remember that. Jeff Garcia was our backup, and he had no problems filling in for Doug]

Garcia and Flutie are the man. I am so happy that some players from the Calgary Stampeders have made such a big name for them selves. I wish one of them ran for a Mayor of our fine city.
