Nasser Ousted!!!!

The top guy at Ford was booted today. A member of the Ford family is taking his place.

Any thoughts on what direction he may take the company. I had heard a lot of negative comments about Nasser. I'm sure there will be some that will be glad to see him go!

Comments?

Really? That's the first I've heard
of it. Which family member is taking
his place? Was the a reason given
for Nassers resignation/firing?

Yea there is a link to the article in the Lightning forum. A decendent of Henry Ford, Bill Ford, Is taking over the company. They will announce Tuesday Oct. 30 that Nasser is leaving the company and Bill Ford will take over as the head of Ford. They said that Nasser is leaving due to the pressure of the economy and because Ford isnt doing to well in the stocks. A lot of people are happy to see Nasser go but Bill Ford is really commited to environmental issues so i hope they dont loose sight of any future performance ideas.

YES!!!!

Thank God he is finally out of there. Ford has been continually going downhill ever since he was at the top. I hope that Bill can raise this sinking ship.

William Clay Ford Jr, great-grandson of Henry, is taking over.

Bill Ford, 44, is the great-grandson of company founder Henry Ford and nephew of the late former chairman and CEO Henry Ford II. He also is great-grandson of Harvey Firestone, founder of the tire company that has clashed with Ford in the last year over which company is to blame for fatal rollover accidents involving the popular Explorer sport/utility vehicles and Firestone tires.
