I understand they are very solid. Dependable, no major quality issues. Still a truck based SUV (none of this car platform crap)

I have never heard anything bad about these.

Buy it and let the rest of us know.

Isn't it just a glorified Nissan Pathfinder?

I know someone who has one. Not sure what year it is. It's pretty nice. Would never take it offroad though. I'd still rather have a real truck though

Actually, the articles I have read indicate the that QX4's 4x4 system is one of the more advanced around. It has a 2wd option, an auto option, a 4x4 hi, and a 4x4 lo. The center differential is a clutch type, which in auto limits slip electronically, potentially sending 50% of torque to the front wheels. I believe the 4x4 hi and 4x4 lo lock that center diff, and if you get the the limited slip in the rear (it actually may be standard on the 4x4), you could arguably have as much offroad capability as any truck, as it is a true part-time 4x4 in those modes with the front and rear driveshafts locked to each other. None of that AWD bull****. I believe the engine's a V-6, which actually has more HP than my 4.6L V8 F-150 4x4, but not near the torque. So, is it as offroad capable as a truck, yeah probably. But nothing really can beat a truck for low end torque jobs done over long periods of time with minimal engine wear (i.e. low rpms).

Speaking of AWD bull****, I pulled this guy out of sand at the beach recently for the 3RD TIME in two months. I'm like, "how do you get yourself into these situations?" and he's like, "Well I have 4 wheel drive, I figured i could make it". I'm like "no, you have 2wd, they just call it AWD." I know he didn't believe me then, but he does now.
