Busted the dealer
Wife dropped my truck off this am to get the rear axle replaced due to accident awhile back. The axle shaft was bent and had been repaired but was still causing noise/vibration when running so the insurance co is replacing whole unit(axle) this time.
Well I dropped my daughter off at horseback riding and swung by the dealer to check up on repairs. I noticed the truck up on lift getting the oil changed so I parked in a spot almost in front of the bay. I just sat and watched to see if the greased her up and changed the filter/oil. All was well until he went to pull it out of shop and backed up and stopped. The oil jerky dropped the rear tailgate and proceeded to load the back with empty boxes, oil containers, and some trash bags by the wall. He then drove the truck out to the dumpster and emptied it out. I was livid to say the least and made it to the service writer in time to SHOW him the truck backed up to the dumpster. I let him know my vehicle was not there to be used as their trash truck and demanded to see the service manager. The service manager was not there at the moment and I was told I could call later and see if I could contact him then, NOT!! I then proceeded to the general managers office who luckily I know through a neighbor. I relayed what had happened and let him know how I felt and that I was very un-happy with the situation.
My truck is now in the detail dept getting cleaned in and out, this oil change as well as the next one I`ve been told are no charge(gave it in writing) and the oil jerky supposedly has been reprimanded. Hate to know what they did after installing the axle and checked to make sure it was alright on test drive
You might want to check in on your vehicles when getting repaired as you never know what they may do....

Here's one for ya. Dropped my truck off at the dealer one day and my girlfriend went with me so she could drive me back to the house. Well she left her purse in the front seat and went to get it not 30 min later and they had already gone threw it and proceded to take money out of it (only about 6 dollars in it). Well I called and talked to a manager and he said he would check into it. The only thing I got was an oil change out of it. Guess I wasnt harsh enough. Never have liked the dealerships anyhow.
I had a similar experience. When I got mine home after having the door cracks fixed this is what I found in the bed....
The rope was mine but the box and paint lid (which did have a bunch of crap still wet on top) were left there.

whenever my car goes to the shop, i take EVERYTHING out of it, so it goesn't get stolen or whatever.
also, i used to work at a Lexus dealership, and we used to do some pretty stupid things with the cars like: drag racing, and burnouts. That's why i hesitate to take my car in. If i can do it myself or if my friend can help me, then i'll do it before i ever take it in to a dealer or shop.

I guess you might have heard about the guy with the new F150 Lightning that took his in with only a couple of hundred miles on it, and got it back with over a thousand.
I think it was in Lavonia or southfield MI. It was discovered that a teenage employee took it for the weekend. Anyway because of the original milage beiing like that of a new Lightning, he demanded another new Lightning. I don't remember how that one turned out.
When I take my Truck in, I better be able to leave all my tools and stuff in it. If I can't trust them with a couple of hundred bucks in tools, then I can't trust them with my Truck. I even leave money in it, and it is always all still there. I didn't even buy the Truck from where I take it, but FastCloud did, and I probably will buy my next Truck there.
They are not perfect though; When I left it for four days to go to Norfolk, they waited till the day I said I would be back to look at it, so I called from the Ohio state line only to find out it wasn't done, and I needed it to work that night.

Well you read above the problem I had today and it gets better. My wife picked up the truck after work since I couldn`t and drove it home. Well I just got back to the house around 9:30 and checked it out. The truck is spotless as far as the cleaning job goes. So I crawl under the truck and check the axle out. There is new gray gasket sealer all around the housing so I know the axle cover has been off. Started looking at the side that was supposed to be replaced and it all looked like it was never touched. I popped off the centers to see if a new shaft was installed(new hub) and it wasn`t on the passenger side. Looked on the driver side and it was a shiny new hub. Well a new axle was installed but the IDIOTS ordered and installed the wrong side. My passenger side was bent and they replaced the drivers side.
My day is getting better as it goes. Can`t wait to see what excuse the come up with this time. It not like they don`t remember which side had the damage as they had it in the shop for 2 mths for the accident repairs. I`m going to locate me a better dealer in the area asap, closer definitely isn`t better in Durham.

Wow, did they think that they would not get caught?? That kinda stuff never goes on at our dealership....except for a little tire scrubbing every now and then, just to get over a little bumb created by one of the older hoists.

Wow!! I must be lucky. The worst thing that has happened to me so far is 55!! pounds of air in the tires. I "do" take everything out of the truck, and lock and keep the key for the tonneau. Also set the trip odometer, dummies never remember that. I got caught that way with a work truck once. (YES, they did let me take it home for the weekend

Man they sound just as bad as my dealer. Well at least they never used mine as a dump truck. I have had my truck in for a pinion seal 3 times, and it is still leaking. They also got oil all over my interior once. I now put a towel on the seat before I bring it in for service.
So I guess NC isn't the only place with incompitant service departments, the guys up here in Mass must be related to your service dept.

here's a good one for ya'll,
i had an 82 GT, the first year they brought them back. 5.0, 4-speed, lots of goodies. i wasn't married and didn't have kids, plenty of money to spend. anyway, i've got it in the shop for a recall and my girlfriend picks me up and we're driving through town. guess what pulls up beside us, yep, my black GT. some idiot is nailing it from every light, barking 2nd and 3rd. basically, running the dogsh$t out of it. we follow him while he proceeds to run every car in town for about 30 minutes. follow him back to the dealer, walk in and get the mngr. he comes out and you can still smell the burnt rubber. they fired the guy on the spot, i got a new set of back rubber and an extended warranty through the dealer. kinda funny how things work sometime. Rich.

When I had my 98 F-150 I took it in because one of the windshield wipers wasn't working (under warranty of course). When I pick it up it had about 35 extra miles on it. I'm thinking WTF??? So I bitch to the service manager, he said that it was all in my mind and gave me a free oil change. I got my oil change and never went back.
LOL,
These dealer stories are great. Here's my best Ford story. Don't even get me started on Chevy dealers.
I've got an 88 Mustang 5.0 that had bad u-joints. It was under warranty so I took it to the dealer nearest my place of work.
The tech rode around the parking lot with me and pronounced it to be a suspension problem.
I told him if it was a suspension problem I'd kiss his *** and to write it up as u-joints and if they wanted to check other stuff, have at it.
I called at the end of the day and he said it was indeed the u-joints and they would need to keep it overnight. They sent the rental car guy to pick me up from work and when we get back to the rental car place he needs my driver's license.
Oops, I left it in the glove box of the Mustang in my check book. We drive to the dealership and by now the shop is closed. I talked a nice lady at the front desk into letting me into the shop to retrieve my checkbook and as we're walking towards my car I notice something doesn't look right.
The car is on jackstands and has been wrecked! I went ballistic and the poor girl started crying.
They talked me into coming back the next day when I could see someone in charge.
It turns out the mechanic changed out the u-joints and he and the tech took it out for a test drive and were doing a little street racing when they lost control and backed into a curb at a high rate of speed. They were going to stall me with the parts excuse and try to fix it without telling me.
Bent the axle, custom wheel, blew tire, etc. Their explanation was "Accidents Happen".
What a bunch of BS. They tried to make me feel bad because the poor mechanic could get fired over this.
Needless to say, they wound up fixing everything (custom wheel no longer made, only available for $1000 on the West Coast, too bad so sad) and I got it back and never went there again.
DO NOT GO TO GRAND PRAIRIE FORD FOR SERVICE WORK!

Geeze. Such horror stories. The worst thing my dealer's done is to change the stations on the radio (volume at about twice what I set it at too) and that happened only once out of all the times all my Fords have been there for servicing and warranty work.
