OOOHHH - OOOHHH - I REALLY want to play this game.

I REALLY sneer at lowly XL & less owners. I think there should be an XLT Super Cab forum (4.6).

I would allow any year & any color - ( in Canada, that would be COLOUR)- even regular cab's however, just to show I'm not a real snob.

I likewise cring under the dash when a "BIG BOY" SCREW, L, or (my personal fav.) a HARLEY comes near.:o

As to clothing I generally have on my leopard skin thong under my Dr Denton PJ's ( trap door buttoned) - no socks, but Mephisto's on the pedal extremities and some nondescript - IE - WELL WASHED and WORN - exotic location Tshirt - like, oh I don't know - Sooke, BC ?? - (an obscure town on the west side of Vancouver Island ).

Other that the above - I really don't discriminate - EXCEPT for other than FORD TRUCKS .

BTW - logical - THAT THANG YOU HAVE IS REAL PURDY

Wow nitrous63
Way to make friends,LOL. I'm sure my slightly faster than dirt, not so bone stock F-150 makes me just as happy as your "L" makes you. Well, maybe not.
Fast and expensive vehicles can buy happiness for only so long, til you realize they don't really matter that much to anyone else but the driver. I'm quite sure there are a few people on this board that are sick of mine, but love theirs
to death(Just like me),,,,98

Cant We All Just Get Along??

Someone just give nitrous a big hug!

C"mon guys i personally like the L fourm because if you look in the forum theres like 100 pages from the last 30 days

really keeps their messes out of our hair and lets them stay among themselves no offense to the L owners but you guys have special rides so you have special topics! i think everything is just fine how it is i dont own a L so i dont post there and i dont even bother looking in there

Since I got my Lightning I spend more time there than the other forums. I still check out the other forums, and if I can help answer a question I am happy to help. After all we are all one big family and many of you have helped me out when I first joined the site, and I thank you all.

I myself don't think I am any better than a non lightning f150 owner. I agree with one of the other posts, that the Lightning owners get together at the track, so we do get to know each other.

I allways wave to other F150's when they wave to me, after all it is just a F150 with a little more power.

Hey Andthensometoo I love your new picture.

Peace to all
Don

Andthensometoo - is that you truck?

Who's going on sand dunes with there truck? Thats gotta be fun.

nitrous63 - calm down. I and many others do hual stuff with our L's. Lightnings have stuff in common with other F150's, reading other rooms helps you learn more.

L owners don't think they're better, just different. I view my truck a little differently than most truck owners:

1) My L is a big, rugged sports car
2) My L has a trunk bigger than a Crown Vic (Lid and bedrug)
3) My L only hauls one thing...
4) My L can tow more than I need (I keep meaning to take off the hitch)
5) My L doesn't go off-road (or pretend to)
6) My L fills all the needs I have of a vehicle.

I read a lot of the other forums, and occasionally post, but the bulk of my posts are in the Lightning or stereo forums. I think segregating the forums probably cuts down on the flame posts, since most people seem to flame anything they don't appreciate.

Gee..... I've noticed that the "Pre-97" section has people that don't post anywhere else. Do they think they are better than us? And that "Computer Chips" section, well those guys just turn there noses up at us non chipped trucks.....

Lighten up people. Many of you noticed that the L forum has several new pages a day. Just like the rest of us, they are more interested in what applies to their own truck.

As for the attitude being different, I haven't seen it. I posted looking for a L logo and got several responses, quickly.

Besides, I still haven't found a single owner willing to race me in the quarter mile. If these trucks are so superior, surely by now one of those guys would race me up a muddy rutted hill.

Can't we all just get along? The other day I was cut off by another vehicle on the road. Just because that one person made me mad doesn't mean I will hate all people who drive that kind of car. Likewise if someone in the Lightning forum flamed me that doesn't mean I should dislike all Lightning owners, does it? Maybe my post here will **** someone off. If it does please blame me and not all other XLT owners.

This site is an absolute wealth of knowledge. I have never found one quite like it. We should all set aside our differences, and embrace the fact that we are all Ford owners. Sorry to preach but it is my .02 cents.

Thanks,
Bones

That's something I just realized, everytime I see an L on the street, they are driving like a human being Camry,Cavalier, and BMW drivers, however, are a different story altogether,LOL. They all drive like they are special No hard feelings, nitrous? We all drive F-150's, and we all love them. Otherwise we wouldn't be here,,,,98

Alright, Here's my two cents.........

When I first came to this site. If somebody gave me chit about a opinion I have had. I would be right back at them, looking as stupid as they did. Now four months down the road. I don't even bother. It's not worth it. I'm not gonna let the few a$$holes change my opinion of all the good people on here. I've replied to alot of L questions. Seen alot of L owners post replys on other forums other then the lightning one. Some are a little ignorant, like nitrous63, but don't let people like him change your attitude towards L owners. *****, you got the same ignorant ones who own 150's, 250's, Screws, Harleys. There's not many. But, there are one's that got bugs up there a$$'s. Why? Who knows. What I see with the L owners, is a close knit family. Maybe some of the non-L owners are alittle jealous of that. I think it's great. If it seems like I'm sticking up for the L owners. Maybe I am. I haven't had a problem with them. Seems like some have, or we won't be have this thread. I'm not treating anybody different, because of what they own. Everybody's cool to me. Some a$$'s. When you know who they are. You just don't bother to reply. That's it. Move on. Not everybody is gonna agree to what you, have, say, do, buy, color of truck, how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop. Everybody has opinions. Some know how to reply with a sense of maturity. Some are well, plain a$$'s. I done rambling on. I know I've been all over in this post. Never was my strong subject in school. Cut the L Owners a break. I don't them complaining about us non-L owners.

Whoa, guys............

I post in several areas on f150online.

Andthen: I don't think I've ever looked down my nose at other Ford truck owners. I have a 1997 f150 xlt 4.6L as well as my L. I 'love' them both but the L is a whole lot more fun! I drive it daily to work--11,700 miles since May 8, 2001, when I brought her home. Oh, and I wear a suit and a tie to work(financial consultant), but the Wrangler dungarees go on when I get home and when I go bass fishin'.

I'm sorry if some of you feel this way or if some of 'us' gave that impression. I don't think it's 'real'. I will grant you that maybe one or two L guys are snobs---but, can you assure me that there are no snobs in the other Ford truck ranks? No, I didn't think so.

Oh, btw, I have modded my 97 f150 too--air force one fipk, superchip, f/m 50, and a throttle body and, if it weren't for the 97, I would have never heard about--much less have bot my L. I'll always be thankful for both my trucks and for f150online.com--ALL of it.

Talking Dan, I won't give you a hard time but...

I did see a sign once that said:

Please don't tell my mother I'm a Financial Consultant.
She thinks I have a job.
