are lightning owners better then the rest of us?
Really?
Gee, glad to see such "generalization" of Lightning owners in the "general" forum.....
BTW, the reason I purchased my Lightning TRUCK was due to the fact that my bro-in-law has an F150 4X4 TRUCK of which I grew quite fond. This is my first truck and quite honestly, I think I'll never go back to a "car".
Lightnings ARE trucks..........it's not my fault I "crawl" just a little quicker.

I have seen a few threads outside of the "Lightning" area where Lightning owners joined in on a topic other than "mods", "kills", Hooters, Zaino wax, leaky intercoolers or billet dipstick handles. Frankly, it wasn't pretty and I think we should all be glad they pretty much keep to themselves.
Besides, if anybody has a right to feel they are better...clearly it is the ultra exclusive King Ranch owners, right?
You do know I'm kidding right?

No i dont think they are better than any of us, just their trucks are. j/k thats just my opinion but i do see a couple of lightning owners post in other forums and while they dont really spread out of the lightning forum they do give some good all around advice. Besides i like going in there and seeing whos lightning keeps getting faster and faster and what kind of kills they get.
I kind of feel sorry for the Lightning owners and Steve. He has a Tiger by the tail. F150online is for all F-series and the forums are set up for that. However, a lot of the site traffic is 'Lightning' and Steve has done some things to accomodate such as archive a multitude of older Lightning threads and provide for a Lightning FAQ. A while back, he offered to provide other Lightning forums to further break up the bulk, so long as they did not duplicate forums already on the site, i.e. no 'Lightning General Discussion Forum'. I guess that didn't pan out because one could sort out almost any 'Lightning thread' into an existing online forum.
The result of all this is when you post on the Lightning forum in the morning, your thread is on page 3 by lunchtime. This has spawned hard feelings and 'Thread police';
"Use the Search!"..."Read the FAQ!"..."UMAMA!"
Anyway, try to put yourself in their shoes. If you bought a new Corvette and went to the Chevy site and all the forums were "Chevette this and Corsica that...", wouldn't you just stay in the Corvette Forum? I know a Lightning isn't a Corvette but, they think it is!
Just my observation, it's Steve's headache but, Hey! That's why he gets paid the big bucks!

I posted a note in the L forum a couple months ago on the subject of all the BS in the forum, and that it would be nice to see people post to the correct forums. I was nice about it, and I hope to be an L owner about this time next year. But, I got nothing but flaming responses. So, I just figured to hell with it. Raoul, you are correct that it is Steve's problem, but I think users should help to police each other as well. Canyonrunner, you missed the point completely, we aren't even discussing performance. F150Forever, maybe I read this wrong, but paying more for one's truck doesn't make one "better". My Lariat stickered for more than a fully loaded Lightning. Matt, the simple fact is some people just don't give a damn, and some people certainly don't give a damn about you or me.
Raoul-
I was with you right up to the Corvette reference, then you lost me. (hehe) Yeah...I suppose in their minds it makes sense. Actually, I suppose the 22 year old L owner of today is a pretty good bet to go for the Corvette right around "mid life".
Good point rons, I can't imagine they see it as a class issue either because my truck also stickered for thousands more than a Lightning F-150 (they hate it when you call it that, hehe). On the other hand I probably paid less since I paid way under invoice and some of them actually paid over sticker.
The real point I wanted to make (now that I've cheesed a few of them off) was that I guess it's just that their interests are more skewed toward the car-like aspects of their F-150's where the rest of the site thinks of ours as pure trucks.

Raoul - we don't think our Lightnings our Vette's, why downgrade
Andthensometoo - I'm glad you can catagorize us all together like that
, you know where not all bad
. By the way the largest sigs are not only L owners, we have some HUGE ones as do F150 owners. And the largest monitor I get to use is a 17", so I know it's a pain to scroll left and right, though I think most people have 17" now.
Dennis - you're right, our forum is an utter mess, but you forgot I think we also have the most amount of flaming.
lariat4by4 - thats another thing, I personally know and have met many more Lightning owners then all the others combined.

Can't add much to what has already been said. Just wanted to leave one last thought, though.
Lightning owners are truck owners. They are welcome to post in all the related forums that they can contribute to. We are an inclusive bunch of people, even having welcommed Chevy owners in the past.

I wear snake skin dress shoes! Although I usually wear them with blue jeans
I have never claimed to be a normal human being, lol. I have also
only met one Lightning owner personally, and he was a great guy. Most
other L owners won't even acknowledge other 150's on the road, however. I've gone as far as flashing the lights at them, and they look straight ahead like I wasn't even there,LOL....Stacy Adams are the s**t!,,,,,98

I haven't been to the Lighting section in months last time I was there it was a big mess all sorts of topics that had nothing to do with the Lightnig there are a few others I don't go to that much due to the lack of intrest in it but I do go to most of the forums on the board evertime I'm here.
Sand dunes
Dont have any sand dunes where i live.
Sounds like someones jealious to me.Just cause i dont jump sand dunes or shove my truck in the mud or dont haul hay,or bricks or***** it doesnt make us(lightning owners )wrong for having our own chat room.Besides thats what i use my xlt for.Why would i go to the bone stock slower than dirt f150 thread for performance tips on my lightning?

Why would one capitalise the first letter for a sentance, and then fail to capitalise the word "I"? (if you don't get this one, then you haven't been reading the "General" forums much)
Myself and others would never haul ***** in our Trucks, but you sure can in a F150 Lightning, or a plain F150, as well as a chevy. Infact because Lightning owners think their ***** dosen't stink, I highly recomend that if you do feel the need to haul some *****, you do it in a lightning. If you drive it real fast with the tailgate down, it will fly out the back and you can even spread the ***** with it too. When you are all done, you can drive it through the water hole to rinse it off.
I don't have horses anymore or else I would have gotten a Lightning as a better choice to help with the chores. Instead, I haul less than a ton on average of papers mostly, and a few brats now and again. When I am not working or hauling brats, I like to stretch out in my supercab with fully reclining seats.
Oh and one more thing: Isn't having freedom of choice wonderful?!

Know just what you mean . . . there's a beautiful black L that visits on my street three, four times a week. Love for the guy to stop so I can check out his ride while I give him a 'F150online' card. I'd be out polishing my Scab, turn and wave, he just keeps on drivin' with his nose in the air (or is it that his head is up his a$$). Now I just turn my back on him, by spring I'll mostly likely moon him . . . :o
