Complete Outrage....
I can't believe what has been happening around where I live in the aftermath of the World Trade Center. In a show of support for America, as everyone knows, we have been flying the flags to support our freedom, and Unity.
Well now comes the bad news, there are people going around stealing flags from people's houses, not just taking the whole flag, but just ripping them down and leaving parts. That just burns me up, that people would honestly steal flags.
Then there was also an adult that was standing on a bridge overpass, with a sign that said "F*%^ America"....Well lets just say he is now sitting in prison.
Glad to see that some action is being taken, but still not enough. Just wondering if anyone else is expirencing this around their area of the United States.

I don't remember where in the Houston, Tx area. It really ticks me off, but that subdivison was replacing them. Twice last week that happened. Luckly it has not happened in my area because I know we would put a stop to it QUICKLY! Hope they catch the low lifes that are doing that.

We live on the border of the U.S. in Sarnia Ontario Canada. My daughter works for McDonalds here and out of respect for the U.S. the local resturant flew the flag at half mast. Someone climbed a tree beside it and stole the flag.
On a positive note the police cruisers here are flying little American flags on the radio antennas.

Just try it......
My wife didn't want to hang the flag outside because she feared the kids would steal it, just let them try it.....she did decorate my truck. I also have a little wooden soldier on the lawn dressed in desert camoflage holding a flag to go with the big one.
MNFORD99, good thing I don't live there. I'm sure the guy was just looking to stir a reaction but nonetheless, he would've won and I'd be the one in jail........

You can't tell me that someone would dis-honestly steal a flag...as that would be the same as just plain stealing it.....Sorry about the confusion...I was just outraged when I heard about all of the flags being stolen this morning on the radio.
As for the guy that had the sign up....I think the pushbar on my truck would have gotten a used...Not to take down the sign, but to take down the guy standing there by it.
My father is a Vietnam Veteran, and I always thank him for fighting for a cause, and I think that Veterans need to hear that more often from the "younger generations". Veterans deserve so much more than what they get. Let's hope that we don't have to have another generation of Veterans.

I hate to be the one to say this.
While I would never burn or deface our flag, I have a right to do just that to a flag that I own. We also have a right to protest anything in our country so long as we do it legally. In other words, we don't break any laws such as where safety for others is concerned.
I would be upset to see somebody protesting but other than sneering at that person, about the only thing I would have a right to do is to form a counter protest.
These are trying times for us. We want to show our patriotism. We get incensed when we see people who are against what we believe in. Some of us may want to do them harm. Remember this. We live in a country that has laws protecting people. We live in a country where people are allowed to speak their minds. Our parents and ancestors earned us those rights with their blood.
We may not always like it, but never forget. We are the most powerful country on this earth and the right to protest is part of the reason why we are the greatest.
Now, as to those creeps who are stealing and defacing other people's flags, I say we should all be watching out for our neighbors' properties instead of just watching out for our own and when you catch one of these creeps, I hope you restrain them with the greatest amount of force you can summon up (hint) (hint) so that they don't get away and they remember what getting caught by a non-law enforcement type can feel like.

I just don't believe you can "honestly" steal something and my post was just a play on words. Do we have to put those stupid "LOL" or "LMAO" everytime we post to identify we are laughing to ourselves?

Dennis, You are 100% right. Just because other people can be
morons doesn't mean we should be morons. But you know, I
get so sick of doing the right thing constantly. When you run up
on some idiot doing some stupid crap like mentioned above,
don't you just want to rip his head off? I can't be the only
person who feels this way. Sometimes you just want to open
up a can of whoop a%% instead of counter protesting. But,
WWJD?
Being a Christian is hard work!

ONe of my landlord acquaintances rented an apartment to a couple of Jamaican guys. They had Bin Laden pins on their shirts. She let them move in for $600 and immediately called the Sherriff. I think the local FBI office is investigating them as we speak. She was scared of them and let them in. She also wanted to let authorites know where they live.
