Ford says 'nothing further' it can do

I have a 2007 F150 and this makes me nervous. What do you guys think about this?

Calgary man finds toughest part of owning 2009 Ford F-150 truck is finding replacement part.

A work order from Rubner's local Ford dealership said the broken part was what's called an HVAC module, and that the part is "...obsolete and not available."

As a Ford dealer, all they did was search the Ford catalog and since it's not offered for sale anymore by Ford, they gave the truck back to the guy. All he has to do is go by ANY parts store, buy the module which is the basic switch/control assembly in the dash, pull it out, replace it and it's no longer an issue. Looks like Ford bashing to me as the after market parts are available almost everywhere.

Article says there is no aftermarket replacement. However, I don't see why they couldn't find one in a junkyard.

be kind of cool if there was a part number and description. everyone could look for it, wonder if some dealer somewhere has one in inventory? or is this one of those parts that the aftermarket has just not started making yet?

i have a 2004 lightning and there are some parts that are getting harder to find.

in the machine world 10 years typically before a manufacture dosent have parts.

Dorman makes and rebuilds these as a standard item, nothing special about it. They carry them with heated and non-heated mirrors. Still sounds like Ford bashing to me.

That Dorman part does not fit 2009.

The OP has a 2007. The reason it doesn't fit a 2009 is because it doesn't have one. If you'll pull up the schematic of the dash assembly and HVAC system there isn't one. There is a motor control module but it's a common part and still used on the current models. The dash assembly is the same YM 2009 thru 2016. I still think it's Ford bashing BS.

The OP may have a 2007, but the owner in the article has a 2009.

I used to own a 95 Mark VIII Lincoln. I loved that car. After 8 years, some of the parts were no longer available.

Try it within the last 5 years. Impossible almost. Especially the hid head lights

Yeah, the hid head lights that the 97 & 98 Marks had were no longer available as I remember when I traded my Mark in 2006. And some of the owners of the older Marks had converted theirs to hids. I'd love to have a new Mark with a 5.0 and an 8 speed auto!!
