Would you please stop......
Would you please stop......
Just a few lighthearted suggestions to make my head less likely to explode.....enjoy:
Please stop doubling the length of threads by using the "quote" feature to copy the entire post that you are responding to. It's right there above what you are about to post...we can all see it...we don't need another copy.
Please stop directly answering threads as if you know what you are talking about....clearly you don't. Your opinions...fine...but when a guy asks how many cylinders a V-8 has, don't answer that it is actually 16 because your cousin's buddy used to be a Ford mechanic and you seem to remember he told your Mom once that they secretly have 16.
Please stop using us as your search feature. Use the actual search button in the forums so that you don't ask what has been answered 15 times this month or even worse that you don't repeat things. There must be 25 "Did you see the article about the Lightning in Autoweek?" threads.
Please, please, please stop starting the same "Look at my new mod" thread in 8 different areas. If it is a picture of the new "billet, with the L logo" glove box **** that you just installed, post it in the lightning or aftermarket interior area....anybody that cares will find it in either area.
And please no more stories that start out with "So I'm on my way to the health club to work out....." Some of you know who I mean. I've seen better writing in gradeschool and better plots in **** movies.
OK, I'm done.

I am tired of scrolling through threads and seeing the same thing over and over. I was some people would use the search feature on all questions because these trucks have been around for years and havent changed that much. So just look its there, as for the grammer we souther rednecks and country folk cant help but write with a 8th grade education nor spell with one. So you will have to live with that. Good day Joe D.
Oh and did any of ya'll radio stations play the anthem this morning at the same time as the tragic accident last week. Well it was a nice way to start the day for me.
Now you all have a good day as well.

Hold down left mouse button and drag along the letters, words sentances that you are NOT answering to.
You will notice they become highlighted.
Now click on the highlighted words with your right mouse button and a box will appear giving you some options.
Choose "Cut"
There your go!
Now you may reply to the remainder of the quote to which you are reffering.
Optional:
If you wish to indicate that you are only quoting some of the post, simply and ". . ." before and after the part that you are quoting.
~Thank You
Hey now that I think about it, you forgot:
Chosing the option of displaying your sig ONE time per thread is nice.
Graphics in your sig should be small and easy to digest, I mean view without scrolling left to right.
I ditch any thread that has a image posted that is so big, I have to scroll back and forth to read it all.
The code to LINK to HUGE pics is as follows:
replace (' and )'s with ['s and ]'s
(url=http://www.UrlOfImage.com/NameOfImage.jpg)Name of Pic (/url)

Thanks logical for making my day
And since you mentioned it Andthensome, how do I turn this red x in my sig into a pic? What did I do wrong? Thanks.

Badggene,
You have probably done what most everyone has done once... the image you wish to display must be available via a webpage somewhere.. ie(http://www.something.com/image.jpg). This URL address should be placed in betweene the "" tags... if you specify a file on your local harddrive, that picture will only show up when the thread is loaded on that machine (ie no other machines see it). Hope this helps....

Hmmmm
I think I've seen this subject once before, or twice, three times, four time.......Logical, why didn't you just do a search and bring that message back to the top?
Bear with some new users out there bud, search is not always the greatest method, it can be quite time consuming and by posting it makes some of the newer users feel more a part of the group. I may not have alot of posts but I've been on this board for quite some time and visit it at least once a day (and then some), the repetitive posts don't really bother me IMO if they are spaced out a little.
I like ATST's point though, limit your signature to once in the thread. Some are just so long and take up so much space.....

Baddgene,
Either Yahoo doesn't allow remote linking, or the URL for the picture is wrong. Here is the pic. Click on it to see a bigger one.

Here is the code for the above(url=http://www.andthensometoo.com/owners/baddgene/twobeauties.jpg)(img)http://www.andthensometoo.com/owners...eauties_th.jpg(/img)(/url)
I didn't make you a page, I just threw that up there

Logical,
You are right about some of these things, but it might be helpfull to assist new members somehow and let them know that these things annoy the rest of us. I was thinking about some sort of welcome package that you would receive when you join this board. What do you think?

Seems like the right place for this thread is comments and suggestions,oh yeah no one reads it,lol. Lighten up,the only reason your seeing the same subjects is because you've been here longer than most(like me) If your bored with the site find another one that fits your interests. Geez,Would you please stop..........posting threads complaining about other members in a general manner. There are many of them already, you just have to use the search feature to find them,LMAO.,,,,,98
The constant quoting thing does annoy me though, seriously

Long signatures used to bother me, but then I realized that the webmaster doesn't seem to be bothered by it so why should I?
As far as searches go, sometimes even somebody like me gets frustrated, especially when having to search the whole board to find one subject, it can take a long time. Other times, people who ask a question first are new. Instead of bitching at them about using the Search feature, I'll do the search for them when I have the time and I'll post the link along with the fact that the link was found using Search.
Finally, you have to realize that the only thing we have in common here are our interest in trucks. Otherwise, we come from all walks of life with varying degrees of computer literacy. For some of us, English isn't our first language. For others, we maybe brilliant in one thing but not in others.
I guess what I'm saying is there are a lot more important things to be thinking and writing about.

I did preface the comments by saying I meant them to be lighthearted ya know..............and sure we can send new members homebaked cookies and a few instructions...thats a good idea.
I guess the one that bugs me most is the "quoting" and the "posting it in multiple areas". The rest are harmless for the most part.
I just get the feeling that the same people that continually do some of this stuff are the same ones who drive 55 in the left lane and take the last pot of coffee at work without making a fesh pot if you know the type I mean.
I can see this is going to degenerate into an arguement thread so I'll just drop it. On the other hand, I kinda enjoy the arguement threads......................
