Hello all,
I've gotta pick everyone's brain here for a minute. I've got an '06 f-150 with the 3v 5.4l. According to the Vin# it is a flex fuel vehicle. I've got about 98k on it. A few weeks ago I needed to get gas. I was about 1/8 tank of fuel and decided to put e-85 in (which I rarely do). After running it from full down to about 1/2 tank it started to run poorly. It got to the point that full throttle was missing quite a bit and had power loss. Had misfire in #5 cylinder. Plugs were done last summer. Anyway before the e-86 incident the #5 misfire it was a #2 misfire. I swapped coils 2 and 5 and it followed the coil. I replaced the coil pack and it seemed to run better, but since then it's gotten worse with the e-85. It's been slowly losing more and more power. I've replaced the fuel filter 2x and have since used up all the e-85 and put in 91 octane and injector cleaner to try and remedy the bad gas. Yesterday I replaced the fuel filter and ALL bank 2 injectors. (Cylinders 5,6,7,and 8.). Didn't run better at all.
FOUND AND FIXED...
The bank 2 cat was plugged up from the miss/e-85 plugged injectors. Replaced catalytic converter and now it runs great
