Need some opinions on trading my F150 ...
Ok guys ,
Final Update!
First thanks for all the help with this decision!
I purchased a 2014 F150 FX4 on Tuesday and traded in my 2005 F150. GLC, my new truck has the 5.0 V8. I hope it holds up better than the 5.4 3v.
MDK, I understood your point but I wanted to state out front that I'm honest and not intentionally cheating someone. I ended up taking $11,000 for my 2005. I noticed today that the dealership already has it listed for sale at $16,995. So probably not going to get purchased by a broke teenager. When I was a teenager my first car was like $3500. Of course that was decades ago. Also in South Carolina, our auto sales tax is capped at $300 no matter what the sales price.
I feel good about my decision. Between my trade and a cash deposit , good credit (got 1.7% for 5 yrs) my monthly payment is around $275 and my insurance increased by $15 a month. Now property taxes are a different story, going to change from around $250 to about $600 a year. I should have the truck paid off in about 2 years by making some extra payments.
Again guys, thanks for the help!
