2016 Titan Unveilied

Awkward from the front and goofy fenders. Looks like they stepped up their game though and that engine is going to win them some business.

Maybe decent fuel mileage with the diesel but what can they haul or tow. OK..I read 12K pounds when properly equipped. A little too JC Whitney-ish for me!!!

That link led me to a story about the new Raptor, but from the shots of the 2016 Titan that JohnBoy posted in the other thread the only thing I can say is, "MY GOD THAT'S AN UGLY TRUCK!!!!!"

It certainly has some of all of them. Hopefully it will have a "real" rear end axle.

It's not your eyes, I'm seeing the same thing

It looks to me as though the Tundra's interior is now similar to the F150 and the F150 exterior is similar to the Tundra..

John, I got a link to the new Raptor also..

Apparently with the XD version they are trying to bridge the gap between 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton. I thought the '15 F-150 was already doing that

Interesting video. But whoever wrote this article is a total moron. Made me want to vomit.

The ecodiesel is not even a valid comparison. It's not even designed with the same intention. Ugh.

Yeah, but the Nissan has a diesel that makes the Ram diesel look like a pile of junk and has a lot more torque than the Ford Ecoboost.

Thanks guys, I forgot to copy the link after posting in another thread lol. Pretty interesting...the motor really opens up a market we see a lot of on here. 5th wheels or trailers that are just out of the half ton range. Probably will sound beautiful too

GVWR is over 8500, so they might as well call it a 3/4 ton truck.

The new Titan is not near as ugly as the pics show. Not that it's a beaut by any means. The ISV5.0 is a CGI cast block meaning it's strong yet light. Has a forged crank, aluminum heads, DOHC with 4 valves per piston. It's a common rail system. It uses Cummins variable geometry turbo. Typical Cummins, it will be a no brainer to service and maintain. This engine will also see service in the 2016 Tundra which should be interesting. Both will be having 6 speed autos behind it. Fuel mileage is a secret but they're "leaking" 24 mpgs hiway which sounds about right. Trailer weight is 12,000 lbs although I didn't see any brakes specs on it yet. They better be big for that much trailer. Cummins also has the engine available for medium trucks service like buses, beer haulers, etc. For the Titan, I think it's too late to the game to be of any value. The Titan just needs to go away. In the Tundra, I see it as a very limited demand engine. Neither Toyota or Nissan have the market share for this to be of any savings grace. I'll give the Titan 3 more years of life, the Tundra maybe as many as 6 and both will be soon forgotten history.
