First New car purchase... need some help
Ordered my new exhaust for the car. Dynomax makes a really nice sounding axleback exhaust for the SHO and it fits the other Taurus models as well. Also ordered the various adapters, piping and clamps to delete the resonator. Will post when everything arrives. The trick is to buy each side or the axleback separately... Much cheaper than buying the kit. Strange.
Is that your actual car or just a clip you pulled off YouTube?
In that first clip I was thinking that it was going to end up being kind of "droney" inside the car, but from that interior clip it didn't seem too bad?
I have a MagnaFlow "MagnaPack" cat-back system on my '08 Mustang and the drone at highway speed in 5th gear is pretty bad -- dropping it down into 4th solves the problem. Not an issue for a weekend "fun car" but I would definitely have to change it out if it were my daily driver.
FYI -- should be no real issue down-shifting instead of braking. You might put a little more wear-and-tear on your clutch (if it's a true manual) but not enough to get excited about. I do it all the time in my Mustang just because that V8 rumble sounds so cool when I'm out for a spin......
