How Ford Overcame Truck Sceptics

When Ford introduced F150 in 2011 many sceptics and naysayers didn't believe Ford could compete. Now they were proven very wrong as Ford has sold 500,000 F150 pickups, all powered by EcoBoost V6. Ford has done this in just over three years.

It's amazing. How they did it?

Making it on their own feet had some big play into it. Folks can respect that more. The other side of things, like high visual appeal, the 2011+ FX4 is the best looking model to date IMO. The electronic gismos are nice too. I'm looking forward to stepping up to that body soon. Just don't feel too confident about the fuel filter located inside the tank.

Funny thing about skeptics and naysayers, they tend to not be the buyers/prospective buyers of the product they are skeptical about.

Car magazine pundits?
Ram fanboys?

Do we really need to listen to them?

Very good point J-150, but we really don't know who they are. perhaps also competitors?

Not unlike people that wear lots of Harley shirts, but don't even know how to ride a motorcycle, some of these skeptics don't buy trucks, don't use trucks, but they want to grunt about big engines needing to be available.

And yeah, some competitiors and their internet trolls try to dissuade people from looking into new technology.

I'll admit, I was skeptical about the ecoboost. Not that it wouldn't put out the power, but the long term longevity of running boost at high rpm so often to get your load moving. I will say that my concern came from seeing undersized engines die in other truck applications when used for everyday construction work (5.4 in a fully loaded E-350 is an example). But I've been proven wrong by the amount of high mileage ecoboosts with no issues.
