On the hunt for a 4-door Ranger

Do you think I can find one down here?

Yeah they are prevalent in foreign countries, particularly Australia.

You can easily find one, but you can't import it.

That's what I was thinking the issue would be.

I'd totally like a super JDM S15 Silvia . . .

Not looking to buy one, just want to see one up close. So far I{ve seen ONE F'150 (1997). The keyboards down here are so weird. And its HOT! There are a lot of weird vehicles down here. Almost everything is diesel and they are all small 4 doors like Corollas and Hyundias. And then the incedibly dangerous 15 passenger people carriers. Ill post pics when I get home.

Yes, I am down here on the Pacific Coast. Awesome place.

I found two 10th gen F'150s and an 11th gen. And...

I found a 4 door ranger. But it flew past me when I was walking. The search continues...

P.S. the free booze is amazing

I don't understand the allure of an ugly little baby truck

Not everyone who wants or needs a "truck" wants or needs a 5000+ pound beast. Friend of mine is one, he bought a Ridgeline because all the domestics dropped the small trucks.

When I bought my F-150, I was actually looking for a good used Ranger or similar. Only reasons I bought the F-150 is it was a good truck at an excellent price, equipped the way I wanted, and all the small trucks I found were either beat to crap, overpriced, and/or 4 banger automatics.

To each their own, I don't LIKE big trucks OR big cars, I'd never buy another F-150 newer than 2003. If they bring back the Ranger, I might buy one. I also would never buy a crew cab truck - either standard cab or extended cab only. If I wanted 4 doors and 2 full sized seats, I'd buy a car.

I understand that, well actually I don't, but he just wants to look at it. Just don't see what the allure is is all.

We've had this little discussion before, and to each their own. I only like single and crews, I think opening half doors is a giant PITA. But 2 doors are too claustrophobic for me.

glc, there are a lot of trucks here that fit your bill. The Toyota Hilux is a popular pickup. 2 or 4 door, 5 foot bed, most (if not all) are 5 speed manuals and I think 4 cyl turbodiesels. Also Mitsubishi has a decent pickup, as does Volkwagen

So far ive noticed

99% of cars are manual transmission
80% of which all vehicles are diesel (including cars!)
seen 3 F150s, an Avalanche, and two Tundras
90% of vehicles are Asian, 8% European, 2% USA

Ive got pics on my photobucket if anyone wants to flip through. Ill be adding about 600 more in a day or two
