Ford f150 sales

Can anyone tell me how all these experts keep picking the Dodge or the Chevy trucks as the best? Everyone gets the best mileage and tows more than everyone else but the F150 continues to be the best seller by far for many years. Do these "experts" not realize they look pretty foolish picking trucks as the best when buyers tell them every year which is the best.

It's their subjective opinions, after testing them. Your fanboyism is showing.........

I think the best truck is one that's paid for and doesn't break down!

How so? You do know that the new truck offering gets the "Best" award, right? As in some research will show that the '97, '04, '09 and inevitably the '15 will all have a TOTY award. There may be some years in between for the F150 to nab an award, but that's how it works.

I guess sales and resale value have nothing to do with being the best truck.

I think being innovative helps. Ford's gas saving/weight reducing all aluminum body will probably kick Ram to the curb next production year. Motor Trend has to recognize that. - Og

In the reliability and quality stats, Ford has been taking it in the shorts recently.

^ to be fair, "reliability" issues are due in large part to the Sync system.

What other examples are there though? Any useful links? I am genuinely curious

Yes, MT chose to ignore their idea that it has to be a new truck. They decided the new Ram engine was enough in this case. I still would rather have a Ford even if the "experts" at MT chose the Ram every year. Nothing really wrong with a Ram, I just don't want an Italian pickup truck

There seems to be quite a few issues with the Ecoboost, 6 speed tranny, rattles, and poor fit.

I'm not sure what to buy anymore... my next truck might not even be a "regular" pickup truck. I've been looking toward an International Terrastar 4x4 and do some kind of custom rig.

But at the end of the day... do I really need it?

Chances are.... likely not.

But do I want it... oh, hell baby, yes I do... just because!

I drove one of the new big Hemis in a single-cab Ram. Holy crap will they move! I just don't like the interior or the logo on the steering wheel. I'd get a Ford. My current truck is 16 years old and I can count on 1 finger how many times I've been stranded. Apart from basic preventive maintenance, my truck has been cherry. It will soon be crossing 400,000 miles.

I really wouldn't do that. Let me tell you I've been driving and at times repair work on International trucks for almost 15 years and they really are garbage. the older trucks were better built say pre 2002 and even the last year or 2 of the old square nose trucks quality went down hill. but once they went to the "new body style trucks quality went way down in every aspect of the trucks. From what heard about those new terrastar trucks it's not got any better either
