I've had the s4 active since the first week of September and i absolutely love it. its fairly rugged and it hasn't failed me on being waterproof yet, and i soak it probably every day some way or another. The features are awesome and the battery is pretty good too. im constantly texting and playing games on my phone throughout the day and the battery lasts me all day. If you're looking on getting a flagship tier phone id recommend it above all others.

Apple stuff, from computers to phones, work the way they're supposed to, with exception of some times when they first come out. I hate how a lot of the other phones get weird problems, including both Galaxy's in the family. But this is all an opinion. I know plenty of people that went to a Galaxy or another from an iPhone and went right back after a month, but know plenty that went non-Apple and never looked back. It'll take a LOT to get me away from Apple, especially because of the "community" around the iPhone and its chain to iTunes. Way too convenient having all my music go straight to the phone without messing around with a bunch of illegal downloading crap. Call me a sucker if you will, but it's far too convenient.
I agree to some extent about Apple being reliable and Android being unreliable, however I think that this was more true a few years back when Android was a little more "finicky". Even then I have had Android phones for years now and never had any issues, but I think a lot of people's issues with Android phones back then came from lack of knowledge. I think today's Android phones are in a completely different league from the ones we saw a few years ago and I think they are a lot more user friendly while still allowing people like me to really customize and do all sorts of stuff (although Verizon is really doing their best to take this away from us users). Not bashing on Apple here, but their iPhone has essentially been the same thing for years now. The iPhone is not a bad phone if you like something that is simple and very very user friendly. On the other hand I think it is a little dangerous to be tied so heavily to other Apple products such as iTunes, etc (although there are ways around that). I think the bottom line is I have seen just as many people with slow and problem filled iPhones as I have Android phones. Like I said earlier I think a lot of Android's problems come from lack of USER knowledge, not necessarily the phone itself. Even then, both phones can usually be corrected through a simple Factory Restore found on both the iPhone and Android.

As far as PC vs. Apple...that is a whole other subject that I won't get into too much haha. I will tell you in the professional world I wouldn't take anything other than a PC for many different reasons. As for personal use, I think Apple has an awesome stylish design, but of course lack in hardware. Nice software though and user interface that is great for people that are big into video editing, photo editing, sort of that artsy stuff. Anyways I will end that there...

Sorry for the long *** post haha

I can see that being that way, and them being much improved now.

I hate how Apple computers are designed and how everything is backward from a PC. I hate using them and some things aren't compatible because the world still "runs on Windows". So that combined with the fact that they're all twice as expensive makes me like PCs. However, my entire family has had it up to here with PCs. My dad's MacBook Air is over a year old and pretty much never had an issue. But we bought my Lenovo laptop, another Lenovo laptop, and a new HP desktop within one month and ALL 3 of the PCs have had issues. They were all purchased about 3 months ago. They're just frustrating, though I prefer them for just about everything.

But back to phones

Yea, I agree, it USE to be that way. Now a days, it is a different subject all together. Compatibility isn't such an issue anymore...Lack of know-how is the stopper.

I have had 3 androids before my iPhone 5. I can tell you, I'm never buying an android again. iPhone from here on out. How many people do you hear of going from an iPhone to an android? Not very many.

The bottom line here, and I hate apple and iTunes, is that their software is years ahead of the competition. While everyone else is in a hardware battle, apple comes out with a 64 bit architecture for the 5s. Big hardware numbers don't mean crap without reliable software.

I don't know...I guess each to their own, but the new Android phones have great software AND hardware. I think a lot of people got a bad taste of Android from earlier products and went to the Apple world and now they don't want to go back. I think people like Apple for its simplicity (which is perfectly fine), and I think it really tends to attract the "older" crowd because of this. Sometimes I wonder about my parents and their technological "savyness" hahaha. And then there are the females (like my girlfriend) who just follow the crowd and think Apple is the savior of the world (and cool phone cases). Anyways, I didn't mean to turn this into an Apple vs. Android debate but I do like to inform others on the subject I guess. Android actually outsells Apple 3 to 1 in the world market, although it is closer to 50/40 in the US (other 10% something else). Reliable software is NOT an issue with Android. Everyone likes different things though!

Interesting...I will say this...most PC's sold are lower end models (anywhere from $300-$600) so the reliability of PC's is often times skewed compared to Apple (whose laptops start at a much higher price and quality). I personally have never really owned one of these lower end PC's (always had $1000+ PCs). Surprised you have had trouble with Lenovo, they are a great company! (Their W series PC's are amazing engineering computers). Apple has some great characteristics and aspects too, no doubt about it.

Lenovo's great! It's the Windows8 that's terrible and causing problems because of the gaps and glitches it has . . . think the update fixed my bad_pool_header issue because I switched to Kaspersky when the McAfee ran out. Microsoft has a deal with McAfee, so of course it's a fuster cluck trying to get it off.

You game, or just like the computer power, or what with the more expensive PCs? I despise computers in almost every way, so all I need is for them to do is work F150Online, Google, and Office lol. One of my buddy's brothers has a ridiculous purpose-built gaming computer and even I can appreciate some of the stuff it can do.

Company I retired from a few months ago buys lots of computer equipment for 22 plants world wide. They were buying all Lenovo. No problem with desk tops but started having too many failures with laptops. Had to drop them.

Sent from my iPhone using IB AutoGroup

McAfee is ****...I use Windows Defender...light on resources...Malwarebytes to check for Malware...that is it. Nah, I don't game, not into that life haha. I prefer the outdoors. I just always like having a laptop/computer that is capable of handling just about anything I can throw at it.

Used Avira before that, - for many years... 10 or so. That use to be a very nice program,- compared to allot of them anyway. And there where some VERY BAD ones out there. Looks like some of those are still around.

My grandpa uses Defender too, no issues. But it's free, isn't it? So it's pretty good for not costing anything.
