Why Are New F150s So Expensive?!

After taking a visit home a couple of weekend ago, between 2 dogs, luggage, a dog kennel, and my girlfriend and I, it really sucks not having a truck anymore.

Don't get me wrong, the GT is awesome fun, but I just miss having a truck.

I honestly have toyed around the idea of seeing what I could get for the GT trade in wise, but the price of the truck I would want just kills me idea all together...when did they get so dang expensive?

wait for a sale or try to find a 13, I got my FX2 with all but the appearance package for 36, as long as you don't want anything above a FX4 you should be able to get it under 45. The premiums they charge for the high end trucks is ridiculous, there isn't enough extra stuff (mainly just get nicer leather and a different grill) you get with the higher end models to justify them in my opinion.

I built and priced a XLT 4x4 on Ford.com. Basically fully loaded, minus leather, with bucket front seats, supercrew, and other small things, and it was $46k MSRP. WTF?

Now I know realistically I could probably get that for around $37-$38k with the instant rebates, dealer rebates, etc, but that's still more than I paid for my GT new...

Look at how much more material it takes to make a supercrew F150 than a mustang though....

Cars in general have just become insanely priced. The current Superduty equivalent to my dad's 7.3 powerstroke (he bought new in 2001 for $32k) is now $55-$56k...

I just priced an STX for the heck of it, and that alone was $41k. 4x4 and Supercrew option add over $10k to the base price.

Riiiiiight....

...because everybody knows ye ain't manly unless ye can roll yer winders down manually. Using similar logic, 'puters 'n cell phones 'n sich is "unmanly fluff" too, eh?

BTW, try manually rolling down the passenger side (or REAR windows, for that matter) from the driver's seat with a center console while driving.

Try manually rolling down the passenger window while not pncturing a lung from the mile high shifter in a 4 spd F150. I never understood why my grandpa bought a manual. LOL
