Best place to sell practically new car?
Best place to sell practically new car?
My mom is considering selling her 2000 TransAm Ram Air WS6. Although she really dont want to, she doesnt drive it. Really, it has 1,700 miles on it. Still basically brand new. She cant enjoy it because she's afraid something might happen to it. They stopped making them in 2001 I believe so you cant go out and buy these anymore. KBB and NADA show the value extremely low. I did a quick search through Barrett Jackson's site and a couple have sold there with 8,000 miles for around $20,000.00 Book value is around $11,000.00. If she cant get the number she is looking for then she will definitely keep it. But does anyone have any recommendations on how to list this with the best return on value? Just looking around for her. I put a new battery in for her last night after work and i drove it through her neighborhood and its just not for me. I will keep my trusting Mustang for a toy.
Try listing it on www.LS1tech.com
GM stopped "F body" production/sales in 2002
Has it been garaged? How's the paint etc?

I have a friend thinking you should expect 14-15k unless you're wanting to sit on it for the right buyer to pay more than that
Its M6 trans right? They're more desireable than the A4 counterpart

best of luck with selling. I love that car and there is nothing that looks meaner than the WS6. However, I would be more scared of that low of a mileage than one with high mileage. Dont take this the wrong way but it has been set up rotting. Only trouble would come from someone driving it daily now. Not that I have any facts to base that off of just my opinion.
By the way, is it black?

Always garage kept, flawless paint and of course, it IS black. Best color choice for that car. Manual 6 speed tranny. Feels like a race car when you drive it. Just has the wrong badges on it. She will keep it unless she finds the right buyer. She just told me this week that she is thinking about it. She had a Bandit Special back when i was 2 years old. It was only a couple of years old then, practically new. Sold it for a family car. The years later got a new 87' Trans Am. Dad sold it for an Explorer. It only had a couple of thousand miles on it too. She has always loved those cars. I wish she still had the Bandit Special.
Right, I like the older TA's w/400. Those aluminum Diamond dash bezels

I wouldn't worry about those low miles hurting anything. As long as it was on concrete in a well ventilated area. A controlled environment would be best of course. Anyone interested will most likely inspect all that. As far as the internals, absolutely no problems there which a very important aspect for the enthusiast type. It can run the same oil for 20 years if it's not driven much, since that has a 100% sealed system.
If it was garaged, I doubt it has much dry rot. It would be difficult to have to let that one go because of reasons stated. VERY.

I would place it up on different enthusiast sights. Sending it to auction with reserve is an option, but only if your mom had to get rid of it, which isn't the case. It'll still cost you a good chunk of change if it went across the block and didn't reach reserve. Put it out there for people to see and find, and play the waiting game is the best thing, in my opinion. No dealer is likely to fork up a high enough number
