F15??
The VIN should only be 11 digits on a 1964 model. Decoding it will tell what the model is, when it was made, where it was made and what # in the production. Not sure when VIN's went to the current 17 digits.
There is a second set of numbers on the tag or maybe even a 2nd tag in addition to the VIN, and decoding the other numbers will tell info like original color, axle ratio, etc...
Never heard of the F15 before, but did a little searching and could not find a 1964 F15. There was a WWII era F15 military truck. The F was for Ford, and the 15 was for 15 hundredweight capacity. It seems like there were a lot of versions of the F15 used by the Canadians, but I could not find any that look at all like a 1964 LB stepside Ford pick up. Perhaps someone put an F15 badge on and F100? Got any pics?

Somethings odd here! The Title VIN & VIN Plate on the door have matching numbers but, on the Title under "Model" it's listed as "F15" whereas on the VIN Plate on the door under Model it says "F101. Also, the HOODBADGE is a gear with a lightning bolt across it but no mention on any badges of F10 or F15. The truck is a 6cyl 3 speed on the column and is in exceptional shape for the year. I bought it sight-unseen going on pictures on the Internet. I bought it to restore but now I may just sell it. I was told that everything is original except the generator has been replaced with an alternator & the regulator has also been changed. The motor purrs at idle but cuts out upon acceleration.
P.S.: The VIN Plate does say made in the USA.

In 1964, F101 = F100 2WD, 4,200 lbs. GVWR
Can't find any references to an F15 model for 1964, but it sounds like the same gear/lightning bolt emblem is common for all '61 - '64 F100s, whether they were 6 or 8 cylinders.

Can't be a mistake as to the F150, as that did not come about until 75.
Yep, for the YM 1964, there was an F15....and an F18, F19 as this denotes the payload package and running gear. You have a 2 wd with a code B engine. Code B is a 262 Mileage Maker 6 banger. It will have a 3 speed manual with a GVWR of 5400lbs. That's the highest rating for the 64 half ton truck. If you needed more capacity, the F26 provided for an additional 2000lbs GVWR.
Thanks everyone for all the intell!! I've developed a little more of an attachment to the truck now. I am going to try to attach a pic or two. Thanks again all!!!
Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to attach pics.
