Anyone know the value of this gun or tell me if its a fair trade?

Rra lower with 10.5 inch colt barrel with 4.5 inch permanent extension. Comes with eotech, Troy flip up rear sight, ambi charging handle, ambi safety, one point sling, magpul furniture Troy rail some kind of light attached to it and gun has armor tuff (some kind of coating). Also comes with 500 rounds of brass ammo. He wants to trade for my 97 4x4 f150 five speed 164000 miles. I'm thinking his gun is worth about 2500 with everything bu he says he has over 4600 in it. I have my truck priced at 3999. The truck is all stock with larger than stock tires. Is my truck priced too high? Should I jump on this deal?

I wouldn't, but I'm an AK fan and don't prefer AR's.

Im not too much of an AR guy, but 2500 sounds about right, even with that EoTech on it. I would tell him to throw in some cash.

2500 is bout right for the gun and ammo. U got a picture of the gun? Have you shot it???
Sounds like an OK trade. I would throw a cash offer at him.. Your truck for the AR ammo and 500 cash.

If you were to go buy that gun new today it would cost you $4,000-$5,000 so I would say he's about right on what he's got into it and the ammo is around another $400-$500 on it's own at today's ammo prices if you can find it. If you were to buy that gun used I would say if you bought the gun alone for under $3,000 in today's gun market you would have gotten a fair deal. If you got the gun, ammo, and some cash for your truck it would be a fair deal for both of you but ask some questions about the gun and by all means shoot it first.

1. How many rounds through the gun in it's lifetime?
2. Ask to see the build sheet because if it's a custom AR most AR builders give you one before they even start the build.
3. How many magazines come with it?
4. Ask if you can have the serial number run to see if it's stolen if he does not have proof of purchase.

I doubt it is a custom build with a Rock River lower and a Colt upper. Even with the trinkets he has on it wouldn't make it worth over $2K used. Unless the ammo is match grade you can find it almost anywhere for less than 73 cents per round.
