I was just thinking about this after i responded to one of my other postings. But, how many of us live near celebrities? I had mentioned in my other posting about Nascar that I live near where Nascar Driver Trevor Bayne is from and can be seen around town during the off season. We also have Shaquille O'Neal. And he actually lives here. People have spotted him in Walmart and Lowes but i have yet to see him around. They say he's not hard to miss. 7'1" and 320 lbs!. He's is out of town right now but is expected to be back soon, so i hope to see him out.

Lets hear your stories. Maybe running into someone at the store while shopping, etc.

 

Lyle Lovett lives in my neck of the Houston area and back in the day when he was married to Julia Roberts there were quite a few sightings of her at the local mini-marts and grocery stores around here. Alas, I never ran into her......

 

I live not too far from the Swamp People!

 

I live WITH one. My wife is pretty famous for putting up with me for over 50 years.

 

I think everyone on the site will agree!

 

I live near a famous "haunted"house. Does that count?

 

Growing up I ran around with Tim McGraw. He lived in Start, La. and I live in Mangham, La. We all hung out at a place called the Derrick in Rayville, La.

 

Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood (Lady Antebellum) went to school in the same county I live in. Also, James Brown used to live about 25 mins from my house until he passed, and my dad ran into him quite a few times when he worked as a LEO.

 

R. Kelly used to play basketball at the gym near me, he's that guy who pee'd on that girl.

There's a football player, I think from the Giants, who has a cabin on the lake that our cabin is on.

I played tennis against Drew Peterson's son in high school...

 

Ha! When I was in high school I worked at a fruit stand in town. I got to ring up Lyle & Julia's produce one day! Also, Clay Walker used to live here. Saw him at Sonic a few time and he had a plate named after him at one of the local Mexican restaurants!

 

Since I live on the Gulf Coast I am very close to New Orleans. There's more celebrities than you can shake a stick at over there. There are also many country singers, who live in the country near here. I grew up in a very small town in Michigan. I used to mow the lawn of a Mrs. Dupont. I found out later that she was one of the heirs to the DuPont chemical company and she was loaded (if I would have known that then, I would have charged her the going rate not the "friends special"). She wasn't famous, but her family is. When I lived in Florida, I ran into Hulk Hogan and Randy Macho Man Savage several times. I used to live about three miles from where Randy had his heart attack. The wife and I ate at the same restaurants as Terry and Linda.

 

My aunt used to baby sit Brett Favre and my dad played football with him. And I too only live about 30 mins from some of the guys on Swamp people. My dads place in central MS is a 5 minute drive from the town the late Steve McNair grew up in and 20 minutes from where Faith Hill is from. I personally have only seen Brett out of the bunch however. But Faith Hill did personally visit my little cousin at St Jude a few years ago when she had Hodgkins Lymphoma.

 

People i can think of is the los lonely boys lives here, Richard Karn (Al on home improvement)is here a few times of the year, saw him numerous times in the local bbq place here. (his wife was born and raised here)

Dale Earnhardt and Richard Childress use to deer hunt here every year.

Also Colby Donaldson from survivor use to live here until a few years ago.

Also saw Matthew McConaughey in walmart. He has a 1600 acre ranch close to town..

 

I completely forgot about Swamp People. Also I am related by marriage to the comic relief idiots on Ax Men.

 

Bob Lilly made my little town his home.
