So I'm setting up a laptop here. I am trying to get gmail contacts to sync in the people app, and can NOT get it to work to save my life!

I followed the link on Microsoft to add gmail account to Microsoft account to sync, but I got nothing here.

Am I missing something here or what. Also, I got the mail app to work no problems.

This computer is for someone else so I HAVE to figure this windows 8 thing out. I can't stand it though...

 

In WP8 I just entered in the account and it did everything automatically to connect to a Gmail account. But I don't use that account for much so I don't have many contacts set up. I would suspect part of the problem is on the google side. I heard they are trying to block MS software to force people into google products. That seems pretty shady to me.

 

I updated windows, and the sync started working. Weird.
