Seriously Officer?

Ok, driving down I-10 today to go see a couple patients at the hospital and State trooper pulls in behind me and hits his lights.
Pull over, clueless as to what I did.
He asks me what color is the light bar!
What?!
Tells me it cant be Blue or red.
HUH? No Sh-------t!
Then, makes me turn it on.
So after I burn his retinas, he gives me my license and regis back and tells me to "stay Safe"
Really?! Nothing better to do?
Only in Louisiana!!![IMG][/IMG]

Probably sick of people blinding him with these types of lights.

So just wanted to give you a ticket for having blue/Red lights. Ha ha well

Also some forces have quoters on how much $$$ to bring in a month.

The first line was not directed at the OP.

Sounds like Cali, got pulled over on a two lane highway for no front license plate. I had my windows rolled down except for my passenger window had about two inches to go before being completely down. As he asks for my license and registration he tells me "I pulled you over for no front license plate" He then looks at my passenger window and says " And now I'm getting you for tinted front windows, here's a fix-it ticket"
Makes me laugh, I was doing the speed limit and I drive this road everyday, and everyday I get passed by at least 5 cars going well over the speed limit. Shouldn't he be catching them instead of giving out fix-it tickets?!?!
Oh well, rant over..

My guess it was a slow day, and he really wanted to get a look at that sweet truck. However I'm a Ret. 5-0, and I don't know what some of the new kids are thinking these days.

every time me and the family go through ferriday Louisiana they change the speed limit there going into town. we got a ticket once on July 4th. guess a retired Vietnam vet couldn't get a break just for going 5 over..

You should have asked him for a warrant for you to turn the light on

I dunno Pat, asking for a warrant on a highly modded truck could have him looking your truck over with a fine tooth comb. Bumper height, tire stick out, bulb colors, who knows how much of your time he could waste, and what little known fact he could write violations for. I think it would be better to tell him that you would do it, but only if he stands directly in front of the truck, and looks directly into the light.

Sometimes its faster to just do what the ding-a-ling asks and get it over with. Being a smart *** with the cops tends to be more trouble than its worth. It is for me anyways. Cops and border patrol.... just answer the question.

Or cite the 5th Amendment on self incrimination. If the lights were not on, you were not violating any laws. You could have said, they are only used off road, and refuse to turn them on. You would probably get a ticket, but it would make you feel better, and the judge would have to decide whether the officer was justified in pulling you over.

I'm pretty sure that they can be any color you want if they aren't on. They're clear when turned off so the fact that they are white, yellow, red/blue when turned on makes no difference if he didn't see them on. What a d-bag!
