Gotta love auto rags-Motor Trend

Well Motor Trend has picked their Truck of the Year and it's the "new" Dodge. They pitted a Dodge Hemi against the EB and the Dodge won but not by much. I'd like to see the same test using an F150 6.2 in their towing test. The 6.2 power output is more in line with that of the Hemi than the EB. Bet the results would be different. Not to mention the Dodge uses a far deeper set of axle gears-3.92's.In the printed article they recommend that if you're towing near max payload to consider the 5.0 if yer buying a Ford. I think they've been getting paychecks from the Gov't too long and it's effected their brain patterns. Anyway, here's a shortened version of the printed mag:

2013 EB HP 365
2013 6.2 F150 HP 411
2013 Ram Hemi HP 395

It goes the the newest truck on the market that year. Next year it will be the GM twins then Ford will get it with the new F-150. If there's not a new half ton released that year a 3/4 will win.

MT has always missed the boat as far as car/truck of the year. They missed in 1968 when they didn't pick the new Plymouth Road Runner and in 1975 they picked the Chevrolet Vega, IMO THE worst car ever made in America!

I used to read MT every month but I quit long ago when I realized that their reviews always selected the brand that advertised with them the most and they constantly ignored glaring flaws in their favorites during testing. Even today MOST of their tests are for uber expensive vehicles that most of us can only dream of!

I will predict who wins for Truck of the Year for 2014. The New 2014 Tundra and then the Truck of the Year for 2015 Ford F150 and so on. On a side note though I do think that the Ram 1500 did deserve to win for 2013.
