Ford AWD??

Anyone have experience or an opinion on Fords AWD cars, specifically the new Fusion? Considering that sucker, but I am not a front wheel drive kinda guy! Have never driven one that I liked; just something about the way they feel I just don't prefer. Wonder if the AWD one feels more like a rear wheel drive, or at a minimum, less like a front wheel drive.

I had an Escape with AWD. I think the Fusion and Edge use the same system. Overall, I liked it. Never felt like I was driving the FWD I had in the past. Was nice in rain and snow too.

AWD is awesome. Flange hubs + full time NP203 = sure footed traction all the time.

I havent drove one of the ford awd cars. We used to have an Audi A6 awd that we traded in for an Edge awd. We get snow and ice around here, on occasion it can get pretty bad. I won't let my wife drive in anything other than an awd. If you saw her drive you would understand. The feeling of awd is far different than fwd and rwd. IMO, a lot nicer. You can feel that you have consistent traction on the ground.

Go test drive one. As far as cars and the option of fwd, rwd or awd... If the conditions call for it, awd would be the only option.

I can't complain about the Ford awd system. I seem to like it. I have driven, well our Audi, a few jeep Cherokee's and a trail blazer? that were awd... The audi feels great but the other 2 I was never fond of how they drove.

That was below the belt! Kind of reminds us of the Exploding Pintos, doesn't it? (I had one of those.)

I don't get it?? Is there a fire hazard or something with these? I'd imagine that's no longer the case since it's a brand new car this year.

Back when I started to drive my biggest fear was to be stuck behind a pinto and have an Audi(remember they had an accelerator issue also) behind me......

There's a recall on 2013 Escape's and Fusion's with the 1.6L Ecoboost regarding potential fires from overheating.
