Agreed. Ford hasn't made a real truck since '79.

You would know Adrian from your sig i think you own every kind of truck since 1971. ha.

but yeah those truck's were built and soild. my buddys 1979 F150 high-boy had a 400M with 38" Super swamper's and the guy that did the body lift didnt do the transfer case leaver right. so my buddy says ok lets go up the big sand hill in 2WD made it half way up he couldnt get it into 4 low so he said KICK IT!!! so with my left foot i shoved the Tcase leaver into 4X4 low and we cralwed up the hill the rest of the way. and hes had many trucks since then and we have tryed that many times all have failed once the back tires dig in even switching to 4x4 the fronts just dig but that 79 dug the rears in kicked into 4x4 and it climbed the rest of the way. was amazing. that truck took a beating!

on the way up V-10 excurtion doing work!

Not a fan, I'd really like to see a true Bronco in the spirit of the original, heavy duty, few options and a removable top but its not going to happen.

Broncos, Blazers and CJs are gone, we will never see the utility vehicles of old reproduced. Just like the old muscle cars that were spartan. In order to sell a vehicle in the numbers required to make them profitable they require all the power options, fluffy interiors, cup holders and doors. Its really ridiculous the way that automotive packaging is today, in order to get the trail or engine options you want you need to "upgrade" to a package that includes all kinds of luxury items. Frankly to most it doesn't matter if its in the buyers budget they want all the options. Maybe my age is just showing but I don't want what I don't need.

While that maybe true for the majority of them, it's not true for all of them. Some of them actually understand how the real world operates and aren't confined to a cage.

Unfortunately, many of them just do what they are told and are given guidelines to follow when creating things. Just because they build it doesn't necessarily mean they wanted it that way, while yes you do have some that will do what it takes and do build what they want.

We live in a technology driven world that is advancing rapidly, it was only a matter of time before these technologies make it into every vehicle and essentially change how we drive and what driving means. It's all the market research that Ford does that sees the trends and what people want. You have to remember that all of the members on here only make up a small fraction of Ford's market.

I for one like many of these new advancements and think Ford is really doing some great things in the direction of the future.

I keep telling my dad he probably wont' know how to start his next new car upon immediately entering it, and he says I'm probably right.
