Sold the truck.

I sold my truck today to an older gentleman who will be putting a plow on it and using it to clean his parking lot. (he owns a hotel) Ill miss the pig! Ill keep coming back to this site though! I am adopting our 91 f250, so ill have a reason to stay. Also, i will keep my eye out for another 1997-03, so dont be surprised if i jump in another here within the year! It's an odd feeling selling your first vehicle though...

Unless you just "need" a truck you will be far better off with a car you like.

Best thing I done since getting married was dumping my 06 F-150 on the first dealer who offered to buy it.
(The only thing that sucks about that is that it sold for 15,500. More than I paid for it in 09 with only 20K on it.)

Honestly though, unless you just "need" a truck you will be better of w/o the expense of DDing one.

I picked up a 03 grand am gt with the sct package (110K) for 2800, its paid for and about 1/4 of the fuel costs, less insurance too.

I went from only having that truck to owning my (paid for) house/land, 05 Trailbalzer, my 03 grand am and a 94 ranger.

Ohh titan... i need a truck. I hunt, haul, and offroad enough to justify my need for a truck.

It sucks that you had to sell it, but you got to do what you got to do. I hope I never have to sell mine, and unless something comes up where I really need the money, my plan is to park it a few years after college, get a new truck, and keep miles off of the old one.

You always need a truck, here in the South.

Hate to here you let her go, but you'll find another--I still plan on restoring my '95 XL longbed with the 4.9, one day.

At first I thought , -this guy just hit his head, perhaps suffering from concussion confusion. That you may wake up some day, -nakid as Bluejaybird! An added horrified thought for sure. More so if witnessed I bet.

THEN! -you mentioned "rust". My thought now, = Smart Man.

yea it had a spot on the passenger side on the bed i planned on fixing, never got to it, then the rear quarters started, then the driver side front on the bed. cab started... She was due for a good ol replacement. Man i'll miss the pig. As hard as i drove it, the beast held up well... Needless to say i think the frame was tweaked slightly as well... if you looked closely the bed was 1/2 inch closer to the cab on one side than the other and was slightly raised at the top front... Terraces while chasing cattle and coyotes are hard on trucks... Also, brew, you made a 16 year old very happy. I never thought it was a "good looking" vehicle. in the photos i have you can see the flaws. I still think im dumb for doing it. I did find a bed the day after for $300...

You're getting a little carried away with your visions.

Mine was the same way, but I choose to fix it. That was 2 years ago. Still fixing it.

I believe it cost me 300 just for the two replacement lower bed panels, back of the rear tires. That's just for the metal lol. It was a little bit of work welding those in solid. I should of probably sold it, but the dang thing runs so good I couldn't. If the engine was on it's way out, I would have got rid of it. After 300,000 miles, runs very well, compression is perfect. Definitely not in a hurry to complete it. Since I can do it all myself, it will get there eventually. But I can honestly say , I'll never do it again lol.
