Blown engine! Dealer forgot to add oil!
I just took my car in for an oil change at Toyota and its a new Corolla with 9000km on it. Started driving home heading up hwy 27 and for what ever reason I looked at my rear view mirror and saw plumes of white smoke come from me! and just then the oil light came on and I thought HOLY Sh!!. Pulled over to the shoulder and popped the hood and smoke came form under the hood and I pulled the dip stick and it was clean with no oil on it!! They forgot to add oil.
I will wait to hear from the dealer and I think they bought themselves a car.
I'll find out more in the morning!
What sort of things could happen??? The engine never siezed I think i turned it off in time but there has to be some sort damage??

New engine or car but no warning lights at all saying low oil from the get go. Did they maybe forget the plug or put it in lose so it drained out slowly. Just weird there were no warning lights ahead of time. But good luck with your outcome the dealer is gonna try and deny everything. But since you brought it in for the oil change its pretty hard for the dealer to get out of it

Sounds like a loose filter or drain plug.
DO NOT ACCEPT A REBUILD! I agree crate motor or new car period. My concern would be if they aren't capable of doing an oil change, an engine swap may be beyond their skills.

When i get my oil changed first thing i do before i ever get in the car is to check the dipstick and look underneath it.. I dont care if its at walmart or the dealership, im going to check it
Even checking for leaks and oil level, they can do other damage... I didn't even notice they had stripped the drain plug on a Ford van we had until I happened to look under the truck, and saw a funky rubber plug thing where there used to be a factory threaded filler plug ! Royally pissed me off, and it was weeks after they had screwed up our oil pan.
