I spent a good part of last weekend changing the downpipe on my 2.slow. Two broken exhaust studs, two broken easy outs and a bunch of dull drill bits turned a quick job into real work.

I'm debating getting the set of '03 FX4 wheels powder coated and mounting them on the Jetta. I've seen a ton of VWs with different wheels but never some from a Ford truck. With a set of coil overs and the right size tires I think it might look pretty good.

I'm looking at that but haven't found the exact specs for the Ford wheels yet. I think it will work out well with adapters though. The VW has 5x100 wheel bolts and needs a 35-45mm or so offset. The Ford wheels are 5x135 so there is almost 1.5" more room on them for the adapters to use if the bolt patterns are offset 45*. I think the Ford wheels are around 12mm or so of offset and a 1" (25mm) adapter would put me at 37mm. I just gotta find the Ford specs first.

They might work too but they're not sitting in my garage collecting dust. I could get these on the car for a few $$$ and have something different than most. Anything else would cost more, I'm trying to not spend much on this car since it's just a daily driver.

Adapters are easy to come by in the VW world. My other option is to design some, have my friend who works in a machine shop make them and then buy him beer. Either way will work.

Don't know much about the Rookors, but I have had a Eibach Pro Kits on a couple of cars. Been real happy with them. I currently have a set of Pro kits along with Tokico D Specs sitting in the garage to go on the G, just waiting on some adjustable alignmant components. The Pro kits generally lower the cars about 1 to 1.5 inches, and spring rate is increased about 40 percent.
