Anybody like Blues?

Just wondering if anyone likes Stevie Ray Vaughn, Lightning Hopkins, Pinetop Perkins, or any other of the traditional Blues contemporaries? Robert Plant will be performing in Clarksdale, MS two weeks from now, and I can't wait to go see that show....

I discovered the Mississippi Delta blues a few years back, and now it holds a healthy 2nd spot in my list of favorite musical influences, behind Classic Rock. The music is so relatable--of you don't believe me, just check out "Red Hot" by Robert Johnson...it's dirty, it's filthy, but oh so fun

Yep, right here. I have a station on Pandora for blues. There's to many favorites to list but you named a few.

Well Ian,

I guess we are alone on this one lol

If you have a record player, find a vinyl copy of Robert Johnson's King of the Delta Blues, Vol. 1 and enjoy--it's some of the purest, most soulful music you'll ever listen to.

You're not alone. SRV, Freddie King, BB, Delbert McClinton, Anson Funderburgh, Tracy Nelson, too many others to name.

I knew there was a reason to move to Texas, Jim.

Hopefully I'll get a job bite from my trip this past week, and my fiancé and I will be moving near McKinney or Dallas before the year is out.

Thanks.

I'm ready for a change of pace from Mississippi. Texas just offers much more opportunity than anywhere around here.
