While I am a 1911 snob and have a hoard of them, for sure shoot and test with friend's weapons first. Lots of coin to have to drop on a nice Kimber or Springfield Armory.

If you plug the battery in backwords, you should get CCW (counter clock wise)

^^^ what???

mech, thanks for the copy-pasta, I'll give it a good read in the AM. I just skimmed through it, but is there section as far as carrying in a vehicle? Just about every place I go is a "no fly zone" for guns: sheriffs departments, polling places, fire departments, court houses, and airports. I think wal-mart is the only place i go that I can carry with me I'm not going to be a big gung-ho "omg I gotta carry or im going to die" or those "im going to save the world one day" guys. I doubt it'll be on me often, I will most likely carry in my truck.

Delaware being an open carry state, I do so on every day off. Figure if I need it, and don't have it, I'd be pretty pissed.

Make sure you also don't skimp on the holster either. I have a Blackhawk serpa locking unit that gets looped into my belt, through a pant loop, then back through the other side of the holster for as much security as can be.

florida does not have open carry unless you are hunting, fishing or camping. i look at as it should be a right to do if wanted but i would still conceal. kind of like the element of surprise and not the center of attention.

on another subject.....for those looking for a ccw handgun, xd is coming out with the xd slim. have not seen one yet but it does look interesting. it is a smaller xd with a single stack.

and on another subject also....the UN is voting on banning small arms to all but military. some like our loser in chief think we should abide by it and it will trump the 2nd amendment. do some research on this. start with the NRS website.

^^It'll never happen, this happens over and over again at least once every presidency, you get some liberal with a hair across his butt that doesn't like guns pushing something up through the chain...you would create civil war, can you imagine going to Bill Bob Joes house and telling him he has to surrender his small arms, I can tell you I won't be the one there trying to do it.

Texas is no different. As much as it is painted as being all "Wild Wild West" by people not in the know, you don't really just get to stash your gun (even with a CHL) in your vehicle and go on your merry way. I drive into lots of chemical plants and other port facilities, so neither of mine will be coming along very often.
