Help with snake identification.

i just found this snake outside my door, does anyone know what kind it is? i thought it was a garden snake, but i think those are green.
im not from michigan so im not sure what snakes are native up here.

Looks like what we call a Chicken or Rat snake down here in Texas.

Yeah - that's my guess too - the grey variant. Cute l'il booger..

Glad it's not the only venomous one in that list

yeah me too! i accidently stepped on it wearing FLIP FLOPS!!


he blended in with the concrete very well

Hahaha!! Yeah, I noticed that. I believe they just get that grayish color during certain stages of molting. Notice the one pictured in the link is grayish as well.

Snakes are interestin' critters!
