Driod Razr LCD screen replacement

Well in case you guys were wondering...a Driod Razr will lose when it comes to a 4,000lb car driving over it. My digitizer is unscathed but the LCD underneath isnt. The phone still works but I can't see a thing. No insurance on it so I'm thinking about buying a replacement LCD off the web and try replacing it myself. Thoughts?

I had a similar problem with my Droid 3. The 'how to' videos I could find on the subject scared me. I shipped it to motorola for a $120 repair which took about a week including shipping.

I smashed the screen on my sirius stiletto and just bought a non functional one on ebay with a good screen and swapped the screen out of it.

not too bad, i got a guy at work that fixes all of our coworkers tech stuff.

just make sure you have the right tools for the job, like the T5 and T6 bits etc....

Well I guess the phone is still new. I'm only seeing the LCD and Digitizer (which I don't need) for $250.

Edit: Just learned the LCD and digitizer on this model are sandwiched together. I'm SOL

Well, not quite. Since its still in Motorola's 1-year limited warranty, they will still repair it, but I have to pay a fee for accidental/physical damage. Not too bad
