Leo!!!!!

I am out of words to describe your successes!

So good to set foot in here and see what you have accomplished.

You are kickin' **** on the bike portion. Looks like you need some swim work to be world class in your age group.

You are motivating me to get back in shape. (Pear is a shape, right?)

Thanks fellows for the path on the back about a year ago, lols, sorry I haven't responded or updated my thread I have been supper busy working, training and competing.

So, for those of you who wonder how I'm doing keeping up with my weight loss, and medical issues. Well, I believe I'm still doing great.

Last year I trained so hard and was ready to do my first full IronMan Triathlon Lake Tahoe, September 21st 2014. Unfortunately, the event was cancelled due to bad air quality because of a forest fire nearby. The cancellation devastated me but did not stop me from pursuing my ultimate goal of become the first 100 year old in the year 2071 who can still Swim 2.4 miles, cycle 112 miles and run 26.2 miles, all in less than 17 hours.

March 28th 2015 I finished my second Half Ironman, 1 1/4 mile swim, 56 mile bike, and 13.1 mile run with a time of 7:02:41

April 12th 2015 I did my first duathlon, 3 mile run, 19.5 mile bike, 3 mile run, finished 23rd overall and placed 8th in my age group.

April 18th 2015 I raced my first half marathon with a time of 1:46:48 placing 20th overall and 2nd in my age group.

May 16th 2015 I competed in my first Xterra Renegade Off Road Triathlon, 1/2 mile swim, 15 mile bike, and 3 mile trail run. Finished with a time of 2:55:46.

May 25th 2015 I did 2nd half Marathon with a disappointing time of 2:16:45 but I finished.

May 31st 2015 I finished my 2nd Xterra Renegade Off Road Triathlon, 1 mile swim, 15.5 mile mountain bike and 6 mile trail run. Finished with a time of 03:38:44

June 7th 2015 I did my first Olympic distance in which I did a 1 mile lake swim, follow by a 25 mile bike ride and a 6 mile run.

One of the most amazing changes in my live is not only being able to reverse my diabetes and other medical condition but I have also been able to reverse my age/aging process.

Take a look at this picture for instance.

And all because of my healthy eating habits and of course extreme exercise.

I spent a year training, lost 15 pounds by being aware of what I was eating. Light exercise, not huge diet change, just smaller portions.

Proud of you Leonard! Keep up the hard work

Thanks Patman.

Good job Art, keep up the great work. I hope you stop consuming soda and all those sweetened drinks. Big problem with these drinks is not necessarily the sugar content but phosphoric acid. Save your bones and heal faster by informing yourself, here is a good start: http://www.livestrong.com/article/46...d-bad-for-you/

You can also watch this video, very informative.

Leo,

I'm still checking in on your progress. I wish I was progressing at your rate.

I'm finally approaching 70, so I expected to slow down a bunch.

I'm still riding regularly, but my mileage has dropped off and my averages have been plummeting over the years. Very lucky if I can average 17 for a 35 mile ride nowadays.

Keep up the good work!!!!! You are an inspiration to all of us.
