Tulammo = junk
Tulammo = junk
Done some shooting yesterday with a friend of mine. He put a box of tulammo threw his Springfield 1911, and had 10 failures out of 1 50 round box. Fail to fire, fail to eject, and fail to feed. 20% chance of failure.
How can they sell this ****?

They sell it because people continue to buy it. In fact, shooting steel-cased ammo like Tulammo in a SIG voids the warranty, along with many other manufacturers. I never saw the point in spending 700+ for a pistol and shooting cheap steel-cased ammo in it. Steel-cased wears out the internals much, much faster.
I filled one magazine and put it threw my g36 just to see if it would feed or not. No problem, but that was only 6 rounds too.
I won't buy anything other than winchester white box for practice. I have always had great experiences with it, although it is a little higher than others.

I forgot to mention in my first post that failure to fires are pretty common with Tulammo because they use harder (cheaper) primers than other manufacturers.
Harder primers, dirtier powder, steel casings = cheap all around.

A lot of the Soviet Bloc ammo uses a much harder primer to stop their weapons from slam firing. Tight tolerances on a machine cost money. They were trying to kick out a ton of weapons for the least cost. As a result the bolts and firing pins vary a lot more than the Western weapons do. With a soft primer and a slightly exposed firing pin the gun can go off when the bolt is closed to stop this they made many of their primers much harder.
I have never had a problem with tulammo in my
Ruger P-85 MK II
or in these that I sold.
Chinese SKS
Mosin Nagant 1942.
Some 1911's .45 in the colt style can be picky about what ammo you are using.
My ruger P-85 Mk II, will shoot anything, never had a feed or eject issue, never had a failure to fire.
I guess the only thing I have ever shot that would be more reliable is a wheel gun.
From what I have shot,
WWB is the dirtiest ammo.
Hornady critical defense is a great feeding/firing 9mm.
Blazer is cheep, but ok.
Reremington is ok.
federal is ok.

I've used Tula in my glock 26 with no issues... Works fine in my AR15... No failure to fire, feed, or extract... Now... In my bolt action I can get the first shot off and load the second one and fire but then the lacquer causes the case to stick inside of the chamber until it cools... I bout 500 rounds of that stuff... I'd have to buy a semi-auto AR10 to shoot it all up...
I've gotten away from steel cased ammo... Shooting brass and saving it so i'll have enough for when I finally start reloading and I won't have to worry about buying it...

I dont remember what brand the shells were, but i tried shooting full metal jackets out of my Springfield XD.45 and it wouldnt eject the shells. They would get jammed about every other trigger pull. Forget cranking out the rounds. Soon as i put brass in. i could shoot as fast as i could pull the trigger
The Kimbers don't like it, so I would never use it daily for carry, but the few hundred .45 shot through the plain ole Colt 1991 worked well. I'll continue to buy and use.
