Laptop question

You would laugh if I told you the specs on my old PC I still use from Sony.
I have been thinking of a laptop and because cable tv is so expensive maybe streaming movies and tv to the laptop. It was mentioned about Acer being a good computer, and it seems Gateway and Acer are the same company....hence my question. I ran across this laptop while flipping channels the other night and wondered what you all thought. It has a dedicated video card which makes things faster??? I am not a gamer, but like the idea of cutting cable! So???????

Let the good and bad begin! LOL

Just get a box and stream Netflix. Streaming thru a computer sucks IMO.

A Sony box is a one time $49, if that. Connect the net to it and your streaming with MANY options. Netflix is $9.95 per month tho.

I also do need another computer. It is a Sony Vaio series PCV-R553DS
650 Mhz processor, 30 Gig hard drive and 256 MB RAM and Pentium III. Told you it was old! LOL

Besides movies figured TV as well?

If I were buying a laptop in the $600 range to use as a desktop replacement, this would be my choice:

The video memory is shared.....anyone look at my link by chance. I thought it offered a lot for the money including the dedicated memory......so click on my original link and let me know from that. Thanks for also sharing other links...but I am not sure if anyone has answered my question based on the link. Thanks....

If you believe everything you read from there, - then your sucker. So that's NOT your opinion, it's PC mags bull.

I'll stick with the forums, real honest users and personal experience before falling for that crap you posted.

Nice one, that's how you do it

It is also my opinion, Lenovo reliability is better than Dell's.

Same results from another source:

No, it's not YOUR opinion. Your posting marketers.

Again, another link. Profit/Market sharing, - A little education for yuh. Derives from a select few's back pocket. It works, they got you didn't they ? Then again, that's not saying much.

As far as your link is concerned, it is not much better than what you already have, processor wise. Definitely want to go with the Intel Core series over pentium. The pentium is 3-4 generations old.
