Pretty much have the wife ready to jump on it as well. The deciding factor will be how to use this to stream TV and Movies to our 46" LCD. I know I can hook the laptop directly to the tv thru 3 different ways with HDMI being the best I believe. Do I need something else to make this work and get rid of cable?

If going with a wireless router would I need a box of somekind as a mediator beteween the laptop and tv? I have started googling and want real world answers from anyone currently doing this. Thanks everyone for your patience
and help!

I told you how to do that. I wouldn't use the computer, but go ahead, give it a shot. I've tried it, with quite a few.

Just an update, I got the Asus K53E and could not be happier! Glc on the computer forums is a guru! Thanks!! I have almost everything over from my old machine and it works like a charm. Amazing how fast it is with a new processor!
