First car was a 1962 Ford Fairlane 500. Nice car but mine needed a lot of work. It was a real smoker, but since I got it for nothing, I couldn't complain.

I had a 94 Lincoln town car. Triple white with a vinyl top and gold package. I was happy my parents let me get something with a v8. Put dark tints and a pair of subs in the trunk, thought I was indestructible. Wrong. I or the front end run over I traffic by a 2wd 96 f150. Totaled my car, pushed in the corner of his bumper a little. That's when I said "I gotta get me one of those!!!"

'77 Nova that I bought from my cousin for $300. It was a built with parts from his Concourse after he wrecked that. Ended up selling it when I went to basic training.

When I was 14, my Dad bought me a 1950 Plymouth coupe for $50. We did a valve job on it and traded for a 1951 Pontiac and received some boot. Traded the Pontiac and the cash I had received for a 1951 Ford coupe that I was really wanting. The transmission was out. Replaced that and drove it a little while before selling it and buying a 1954 Ford coupe. That was my hot rod for several years. Installed a 1957 Thunderbird 312, painted it purple. My Mom sewed a black and white interior for it.

Like my Plymouth

1965 Corvair Monza for me. My dad thought it was a good idea. I didn't complain as it was a Christmas present when I was 15. It looked nice and had recent paint but I spent most of my time and money trying to keep it on the road. Parts were very hard to find when I had it in the mid 1980's and I finally roasted the motor shortly after highschool when the fan belt blew off on the highway and took out the temp sensor wiring. I was relieved that I now had an excuse to get something a lot more reliable but it was truly a learning experience and the only one like it at my highschool.

1989 Dodge Ram 50 4x4. Essentialy a re-badged Mitsubishi mini truck. I thought that thing was indestructible until it had a tango with the light pole coming into highschool one day.

There was one of those emails going around my workplace with a bunch of cars from the '50's and '60's in it and one of our younger team members asked where the grill was on the Corvair.....

He said he had never seen or even heard of such a car -- made me feel kind of old when I heard him say that.....
