Iphone4, won't sync to computer

I just got an Iphone4 for Xmas. Works great, but when I plug it in via usb cable to my laptop to sync with itunes, it's not "recognized", My Ipod works fine, and I've tried 2 different cables. Same cable that charges my ipod doesn't do anything for the Iphone. I've tried my 2 different usb ports, restarted both my laptop and phone, but I haven't found the trick to get my computer and Iphone to talk to each other. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

I just got an iPad today and had the same problem. Try this, http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1567 , it worked for me.

iTunes is retarded. My GFs always having problems with it. You have to jump through several hoops just to put new music on it and when she upgraded to that new version 5 or whatever, it erased everything. Music wise, my Zune actually ADDS stuff to my new computer. And my Driod is outright awesome. Automatically connects to my computer via router, Wi-Fi, or bluetooth.

I like android, but I've never had any issues at all with Itunes. I've copied my library to different computers (mine), and have never had any issues syncing four ipods, two ipads, and an iphone. Also, Icloud is great. Download a song on my iphone, and it's already on my computer and two ipads.

But you will always have your apple fanboys and your android fanboys who swear up and down that their product is the best.

I prefer my 33-1/3's.

Turntable takes up a lot of room in the console tho..............

Gotta watch the potholes, too.

Your GF must not be very bright because iTunes is so simple a blind one armed monkey could use it.

Apparently the samsung drivers from my previous phone are giving me my problems. Have to figure out uninstall procedure for them so that iPhone driver can get installed.

All is working now. Apple did great with their customer support for me. New drivers installed, phone reset, and all works like it should now.

LOL, i love how a thread about iTunes not working turned into an Android vs Apple pissing match...

Each platform has its advantages and disadvantages. To each their own, no one platform is better than the other. (I've had 7 android devices and 2 iphones, i know what i'm talking about)
