Need help rebuilding computer
I have a 2-yr old Gateway FX-2800 slimline (I know...). Last few months its been plagued by problems. I kept her relatively clean (software wise) but more and more common were sudden freezes, BSOD blamed on registry errors, etc. I kept scanning for spyware and kept using some programs to fix registry errors but it wasnt enough. Now she wont boot. I'm suspecting a HDD problem.
I have a 500GB that was taken out of another computer. It says NTLDR is missing. Thats fine, because I want to install Windows 7 on it. I've never gone around doing this part. I have the Windows 7 installation program on my laptop. Problem is I don't have a (working) DVD burner, otherwise I would just burn a disc and set primary boot to the desktops DVD player and install from there. Going into BIOS, I have the following bootable options:
CD/DVD
HDD
USB: Generic- Compact
USB: Multiple Flash
I have no idea what to two USB options are. Can I put the program on a thumb drive and boot from there? Anyone else have some ideas?

Throw Win 7 on a flash drive and install that way..
You need to make a .ISO file from your windows 7 disk.
Alot of people use the free software IMGBURN. I used Ashampoo Burning and it worked fine.
After making the .iso file then download this program called "A Bootable USB". Worked great here is a link
