Remote start problem, any guesses?
Remote start problem, any guesses?
I have a problem with my remote start when the weather gets very cold. Actually it has happened once this season already. I start the truck [2010 f150, 5.4], 10 minutes later I get in, do up the seat belt and go. The truck does not recognize the seat belt being done up. The bell rings until I shut off the truck and restart with the key. After restart it is fine. I will have to leave it at the dealer when it gets colder but if I had an idea what the problem is it would help.
With the seat belt flashing on the dash and the bell going I wonder if the airbag or the belt tentioner would work.

who installed it, you or a professional? If you had it done by a pro, take it back and get it looked after. The dealer won't help you as your problem is the result of after-market parts.
Are you putting on your seatbelt before or after you turn the ignition and hit the brake?

Remote start was installed by Ford dealer as ordered by my factory order. Ford remote start. I would rather not restart every time it happens but until its fixed I guess I will have to. When it happens the truck is running from remote start, I put on the seat belt, put in the key, step on the brake, put it in gear and go.
