buying a new ecoboost?

is now a good time of year to visit a dealer? i'm looking to get an ecoboost FX4, and was wondering if i could get a decent deal on a 2011, since it's the end of the year. but i'm not sure if there will be that many sitting on lots.

I doubt there is any better time really, a) ecoboost is in high demand and b) the dealers aren't really needing to get rid of overstocks of 2011. I haven't seen any 2011's as they were scooped up a while ago, especially ecoboost's! Of course, dealer specials often vary depending on location, and they could find an 11' model, but might as well just get a '12 model instead.

Personally I wouldnt buy the first model year of something. It usually takes a year or two to work the bugs out and/or they seem to change stuff, often increasing power in the second year.

^^ The ecoboost engine is not new. It origionally came out in the Linclon and Flex Limited in 2009.

I love my EB and I have no regrets. I had a Ram 5.7 and f150 with the 5.4 and the EB is stronger and faster then both of them. It is a cool engine. I would buy another one again in the future.

To answer your question is there a good time of year to buy a vehicle. Yes and no. This time of year is good if your not picky on colour or options. I work in auto sales at a Lexus dealer and sold pick ups for years at GM & Ford. Late fall is good to buy if you want a current year vehicle. As I said just don't be looking for a needle in a haystack. Its probably not out there this time of year. A dealer is more motivated to get rid of 2011's then they are 2012's.

There are no incentives on the 2012s, and alot of the 2011 went out the door when Ford went to 0% financing or money off. When I bought mine it was the last one in the 5 surrounding states that had Ecoboost, nav, FX4 luxury package. I almost lost it also because someone else had a binder on it then backed out. Definitly look and if you find what you want jump on it. Good luck.
