snow
I hear that places to the west of where I am got 20-30 inches. We only got about 7 but what a mess. Powers been out since sat night. Judging by all the wires down it'll probably be the end of the week before we've got power back. my wife and I have it pretty easy. We've got a gas range so we can cook. Drove out to Boston yesterday and picked up a generator so I can run the boiler for heat and hot water. No lights. I'm a news junky and I've got no internet. Could be worse. Some people have nothing. People on wells have no water. People with electric water heaters got no hot water. If you have a sump pump chances are you've got a flooded basement. Hard to get any work done without power. Thankfully there are shelters in he area to help those in need.
Like the many natural occurring weather events that hit our various communities, this is testing the resilience of the residence.

I hate the bamm stuff with a passion, thats one big reason for moving back to Ga as soon as possible!!! To those in Fl I am not sure who has the worse deal, we get snow, u get loads of tourists, snakes, gators etc. No way I would wanno go there either!!!
Still out of powere here in Northern NJ (Bergen County). We got hit really hard with tones of trees'/power lines down... Hopefully by tonight if not Friday we will have our power restored. House was 48 degrees last night, quite brisk!
hahah this brings back memories. I think I am going to give my old "living in the snow" thread a little bump. Its predicted to be about 80 degrees today with some Santa Ana winds. Good luck to all of you in the cold!
