Any old members still around??? 2004-2005
I don't hit it too much anymore. The trucks been down for several months.
Getting her going again now though. You know, hunting season. Hate to have to throw a deer in the back of the Expedition, Focus, or Cougar.

This reminds me of a story. Back around the 17th century, Galileo was sitting around and . . . and . . . oh darn. Forgot what I was writing about. Proof I'm old.
And hey! You kids keep off my lawn!!!!!
Newbie.
The date field is required for the database.
Dec 31 1969 is a computer generated date for those who did not have a 'Join Date' when the site database was created.
Prior to this website, the creator had an internet newsletter to which you could subscribe.
It also ran concurrently with this site in the beginning.
When the Creator ended the newsletter, he automatically made the subscribers members here.
There were 300 or so subscribers and they have the computer generated '31 Dec 1969' date.
I subscribed for awhile but it was an unweilding document and I gave it up.
Imagine having only one thread and every new post tacked on the bottom and when you wanted to respond to something up above you quoted it first.
For what it's worth, looks like the database started cranking out Join Dates on July 31 1998 to a member named "hoss".
Prior to that, looks like the webmaster 'hand jammed' six member join dates, including his own.

Raoul has done his homework. I had one of those "1969" join dates for a little while, then Steve changed it to March 1998. My actual join date was June of 1998 though. There were about 900 members back then and there were only 10 or 15 posts per day. Total !
Another bit of trivia:
Even though most of the 1969ers have zero posts and most of people who joined in 1998 also have a zero count, the reason is the crash of '99.
All of the threads from inception to July of 1999 were lost. All posts counts reduced accordingly.
That's why none of the Forums have a thread created before July '99.
The only exceptions are old threads that received a new post within 30 days of the crash.
Practically the whole first year was lost.
