I tried updating my 360 yesterday in prep for Gears of War 3 through an Ethernet cable...no dice, think I'll spring for the wireless adapter. I enjoy my 360 and PS3, but I just think the PS3 came better prepared for "today" (wireless built-in, etc.)

Both systems are fun and have their strengths and weaknesses.

While the ps3 did come with built in wireless, the online really just doesn't compare to xbox live. Since it's free someone is always hacking online and I guess playstation network doesn't care because they don't make any money so why should they take the time to ban people. But the new slims do have built in wireless for the xbox.

Galazy, I sell this stuff at work.

Get a new Xbox... the Gloss black slim ones are indeed wireless. They have them for $199 for the 4GB arcade one or 250GB for $299. Unless you want the Kinect, save your money and just get the ones I listed. I would go for the 250 GB because after a while, that 4GB is going to get full. Also, the new models of Xbox can take flash memory sticks to expand your memory a bit.

Yea definitely go with the 250, you fill up the 4gb in a few updates and downloaded content.

I've got 500GB in my PS3... I installed a laptop HD in that sucker, and now I've got more space than I could ever fill up

I filled up the 1tb on my 360, but then again I have all my games saved on it along with a bunch of emulators. It all really depends on what you plan to do with it but between the 4gb and 250gb I'd definitely get the larger ones because some games require them for online play and stuff like that.

If it won't connect through Ethernet, what makes you think wireless will be any better? Wired is ALWAYS better than wireless.

Yea wired will give you the best connection, did you check to see why it won't connect to xbox live?

Haven't looked too deeply into it, but it hangs about 3/4 of the way through then never wants to reconnect to the service after that first drop.

My wireless is not blazing, but I live in the sticks and it seems more stable than the high-speed, which will drop out in a heartbeat.

What exact type of service do you have, and are you using a router? Please post the brands and models of your modem and router.

When you are talking about wireless, are you referring to connecting to your router wirelessly, or using a 3G-type wireless adapter?

Since he live's out in the sticks I'm gonna assume it's one of those verizon style 3g things which really aren't made for xbox live.

Lol. Yeah, playing Command and Conquer over dial-up was fun, too

Guys I don't have the model number but it is a Westell router with 4 Ethernet ports. I use CenturyTel, which thanks to the AT&T bust-up in the 80s, "governs" that particular area (no other options save DirecTV or HughesNet for DSL, no competition for phone service).
