Electric Impact Gun...
I know this is off topic but I thought a lot of owners could benefit from this:
Nearly 20 years ago before I had my house, I used to live in a condo but still needed to work on my rides when needed. I didnt have air tools and no where to store a compressor so I bought a Craftsman electric impact gun and sockets. That thing worked like a champ and in fact, I used it on my lift kit in conjunction with my current compressor. Anyway, Harbor Freight has one on sale and I thought some of you in the same boat as I was could use one of these. I paid over $100 for mine so this one is a steal:

ST- You can only go $49.95 wrong, right? Seriously, Thank God for Harbor Freight! Most of my massive tool array is professional, but I do have a lot of HF in stuff I wouldn't use very often, or wouldn't spend the money for otherwise. They are VERY EASY to deal with in taking care of bad or broken product too. You might want to check and see what the torque was on the Sears that you had to make sure the HF at least equals it. 230 lbs isn't a lot of torque but I'm betting it would be worth more than the $50. that you'd pay for it!
I bought one of those about 1.5 yrs ago, thing has loosened every rusty nut I put on it. I bought it to replace 4 coils/struts on an '02 explorer that had 8 years of salt belt winter rust on everything. I had rented them a couple times previously and after 2 rentals it pays for itself. Also great for doing lag bolts in construction. I think I paid 39.00 bucks for it at the time with a promo coupon. Even at 69.00 it is worth the price.
my uncle has that one, it works, and works everyday for the past couple years. a dewalt one would be the way to go if you want a nice one though. but the harbor freight one will work great on a budget. besides they will return just about anything if you break it and take it back
I have the same one also and its been going strong for a year now. Anybody got a cordless they would recommend for a decent price? I need one for my drag wheels on my car, since I need Dot tires to drive to the track.
I have a craftsman C3 series. Half inch drive, 19.2 volts. I have the lithium batteries which are great but you can get nicad for it cheaper. It has 200ftlbs of torque. No problems with it at all, have had it almost 2 years now. I am sure there are better ones but not for the price.
I have a DeWalt electric 1/2" impact that I used for years to change slicks on my drag car as well as other odd jobs at the track or in my garage. The electric impact never let me down and I never encountered a task it didn't tackle.

$39.95, $10. less than even the sale price, but you do have to print out the coupon for that price.
I also have the Craftsman C3 1/2" and I love it. Used it to get my motor out of my truck and it handled everything I gave it. I also have the C3 right 3/8" impact wrench. Talking about saving you lots of time. This thing is great for all the smaller stuff plus it will only torque to about 20 ft/lb so you don't have to worry about stripping any aluminum threads. I highly recomend both expecially when you can catch them on sale.

I have an ingersoll rand impact a couple of them actually. If they wont loosen it its time to break out the cutting gear. When I redid my mach I's suspension there were some leaf spring bolts I had to cut. 230 lbs isnt much really. That wont remove rusted on lug nuts most of the time. Nice to have around though and cheap.
Yea I agree, -a cheap cordless will give yuh that. The Milwaukee's are over and above , -those aren't cheap. But! - Ryobi has a cordless impact that will give you that and they're more versatile. For the garage, -nothing beats a quite Ingersoll Rand compressor and like impact. -

Show off! I have the same thing in a vertical compressor but NOT an Ingersoll. Had it for about 25 years and with a little work it still works great, and that's with constant use, maybe 4 days a week. My neighbor bought a new one (equivalent size and capacity) just a few years ago and that thing is such a high speed screamer that you can't stand to be in the garage when that thing is running. Long live the quiet ones that don't have to run at several thousand RPM!

With these kind of tools, the way I look at it as, even if you only use it once in a while YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR...
This is what I use if I don't feel like taking the air hose out or flipping the compressor on.

expensive but yet very useful out of the garage.. Sometime it's a hassle to unwind the air hose so I just use this instead. I should just get one of those automatic air hose winders but haven't yet..
