"The photo showing the bond between felled Navy SEAL Jon Tomlinson and his dog Hawkeye has captured the attention of the Web...
The Labrador retriever was such an important part of Tomlinson's life that the San Diego resident called his dog "son."
When Tomlinson's friend Scott Nichols walked to the front of the room to give his eulogy, Hawkeye followed. As Nichols spoke, Hawkeye dropped to the ground at the foot of the casket and, according to observers, heaved a big sigh. The loyal pooch would not leave his owner's casket during the funeral."

The video just how's the dog laying there. It's only about 15 seconds long. Looks like your staying at a still shot picture still

I watched it at lunch today at work...had to walk outside to collect myself. Very moving.....loyal to the end. I wonder if there is treatment for dogs and other animals suffering from depression.
Our four-legged friends don't ask for much, do they? They always give more than they receive, in my opinion. You can't buy the loyalty they give freely.

This made me think of the movie Hachi: A Dog's Tale, in which a dog who met his owner every day at the train station coming home from work, waited there for him every day for about 10 years after his owner died, until the dog himself died. Anyone who can sit through that one without tearing up has a heart of stone.

(But I am biased, never had anything but Labs my whole life)
He was a good guy
