Well at least it lasted the 4 miles.. LOL.. Funny how it blew so quick.. If it shifted down to first and then heard a bang I would think it would be something besides the trans.. Many of those hemi's are in front of that trans without a problem..

Oh well.. At lest it's not mine.. LOL

Great thread - Sorry I'm so late seeing it!

Maybe, just maybe, you should have tried "testing" another one?

Yup. I work in the body shop at a dodge dealer. I have seen this many times on the Nissans and Chryslers. Not sure if other manufacturers do it. It is a plastic hub cap that is cut to the shape of the wheel and fits right over it like a skin.

I have brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee in the shop right now with this. it looks just like a chrome wheel but upon closer inspection you can see the seam between the actual wheel and the plastic cap.

How would you like to find out those nice chrome wheels you thought you had were actually a cheap plastic cap on your wheel?

Even Ford has been doing that for years now.

Salesman just called me and said there isnt anything wrong with the truck it was just low on tranny fluid. He is trying to get me to come back down and take it for another test drive . Im thinking about taking him up on the offer . Wonder how long it will last this time
