Angry Stupid Thieves!!!!

I just recently had put a whole new interior in my truck including leather and a nice new Kenwood DNX7160 with headrest monitors in the back for the kiddos.

We had a wedding to attend in St Louis this past weekend so we went up friday night thinking we would be able to have some fun around town before the wedding Saturday evening. We stayed at a Hampton Inn along with lots of other family and friends in what appeared to be a nice area. Saturday morning we go down to the truck to go out and this is what I find.

The crooks had used something to pry open my drivers door handle to gain entry. The door around the handle and the handle are damaged as well. There are pry marks on the dash trim where they used something to pop the head unit out.

When they pulled the headrest monitors off the force of the cable tearing away, which the idiots could have easily just unplugged, tore a small part of the top of the leather seat. They also messed up the lock/handle of my A.R.E. cover getting in the back. The only other thing they took was a cheap digital camera that I use for work.

There were 2 other vehicle broken into in the hotel parking lot besides mine. One they found nothing and the other the family had left their DSLR camera with tons of family photos on it so that really sucked for them.

I have had break ins before at home and at my place of work so this is not a total shock to me. No one was hurt and stuff can be replaced. I cant type what I really think about theives on here!!!! Insurance will cover it so hopefully it will be back to new soon!

It amazes me that people treat others like that. Hopefully karma kicks them in the a**. Did you have any type of alarm in your truck?

Yes we did. Amazing how much better an open bar will make you feel!

No alarm, never felt I needed it where I live. Thinking about getting one now.

Was on the west side. The hotel was located between I64 and I44. Oakland Ave.

Not really known to be that bad, the farther out you go the nicer it gets for the most part.

Sorry about yr ride man, it really sucks. I would certainly get an alarm fitted without question, some people will steal anything. It might be a "grey area" but isn't the hotel liable? I know they often post signs saying they aren't but I don't think legally they can get out of it.

Yeah I figure it was traded for something snorted, smoked or injected before I even found it missing.

I will be looking into an alarm now.

They had signs saying remove items from vehicle. The hotel didn't charge us for that night, IMO they shouldnt have charged us for the next either, they took my info and said they would have their insurance company contact me so I am waiting to see what they say/do? I have $100 deductible on my own insurance so at worst that is all I am out money wise.
